Wright had 25 tackles, 3.5 for a loss, a forced fumble and seven pass deflections for Long Beach Poly in seven games last season.

He committed to Georgia in June of 2025 and was committed up until last weekend. Miami initially offered Wright in May of 2025.

Wright told 247Sports that Miami made him a top priority and that is what tipped the scale in its favor.

He is the first player from California in Miami’s 2027 recruiting class and is the second defensive back.

Wright, a 6-1, 170-pound five-star corner committed to Georgia, is a coverage maestro with elite speed (sub-4.5 40-yard dash), fluid hips, and exceptional ball skills. Georgia, Texas A&M and Sacramento State have also offered Wright since the season ended.

Wright moves up ten overall spots to inside the top 20 and is the sixth ranked DB prospect in the 2027 class. He’s a high level cover corner that checks a lot of boxes in terms of size, length, athleticism, and speed. Flashes great fluidity in his movement with a smooth transition from his pedal to his turn.
