Yamauchi- the #1 TE prospect in Nevada’s 2025 class- was a major riser in PRZ NV’s rankings last August after making the switch from EDGE/LB. Still developing and growing into his new position but offers some promising traits for a future D-I or D-II TE. Shows great physicality as a blocker where he can be used as a pulling wing/H-back and pick up blocks in space. Flashes his athleticism as a pass-catcher, primarily used in the short-intermediate areas. Yamauchi picked up offers from Washington St. and Puget Sound last offseason and should find a home in the near future.

After making the switch from linebacker to tight end, Eli Yamauchi Eli Yamauchi 6'1" | 225 lbs | TE Bishop Gorman | 2025 State NV didn’t lose any of his aggression. A true weapon in the run game, his strong base provides him with the power he needs to block players that have a clear size advantage over him. He always keeps his legs moving so when he gets his hands on the faster linebackers, they aren’t able to break off of his block. Moving swiftly out there on the field, Yamauchi possesses some soft hands. Stepping into a bigger role for Bishop Gorman’s offense, Yamauchi has been on the rise this offseason.

Yamauchi has quietly gained traction on the recruiting trail this offseason after picking up his first offer from Puget Sound in March and his first D-I offer from Washington St. at the end of April. The 6’2”/230 junior showed promising traits and physicality as a run-blocker after making the switch from LB to TE last season. He’s a bulldozer as a lead blocker that can use his athleticism to stay in front of defenders out in space and packs power and leverage into his blocks at the POA. Yamauchi’s role figures to expand with the graduation of one of the top TEs in the country last season- Elijah Lofton (Miami).
