Yesterday, Minnesota's premier offseason camp kicked off in Plymouth, with more than 220 born-and-bred Land of 10,000 Lakes prospects descending on the Plymouth Community Center for a good ol' day of football and competition. Split between two sessions, the OL, DL, RBs, and LBs were led through a series of athletic tests, including the 40, a 5-10-5 short shuttle, broad jump, and L-drill, before they broke up for positional drills led by local DIII coaches, and all in front of the eyes of a variety of college coaches who arrived in Plymouth to see the plethora of Minnesota talent. To cap off the event, the linemen performed 1v1 pass-rushing reps, with behmethos and D1 offerees littered throughout the four groups of OL and DL. On the skills side of the roster, the LBs and RBs had already worked through 1v1, track the hip type space work, as well as 1v1 pass protection reps, which I loved to see, and finished the day off with 1v1 routes with prep QBs throwing darts and deep balls around the Plymouth Community Center. Check out the top performers named to Session 1's All-Camp Team below.

The undisputed Big Dog and Top Performer amongst the loaded OL group, Minnetonka's [player_tooltip player_id='1517061' first='Griffin' last='Moore'] was nothing short of outstanding on Sunday morning. A towering, now-verified 6'4, 298 with a massive 6'7" wingspan and 10.25" hands, Moore clocked an eye-popping 4.75 and 4.78 shuttle, as well as a 7'11" broad to really throw some verified athleticism into the mix, and holy cow was this dude a monster during 1v1s. With great technique, nimble feet, standout balance, and a ton of strength at the point of attack, Moore could easily get to the top of the arc to handle speed rushers upfield, and he displayed great timing and patience in his punch. The Minnetonka product was an ox at the contact point who could overpower and easily handle power rushes and bigger opponents alike, and was comfortable in all different kinds of blocks, especially pass pro and when attempting to reach on the outside of the LOS. Unanimous pick for OL MVP on Sunday. Easily a scholarship kid with D1 potential as an OG. Get to know him now!

[player_tooltip player_id='1288329' first='Cameron' last='Forthun'] (Southland) 2027. 6', 253 lbs.

Excellent performance by 9Man iOL Cam Forthun, who proved himself to be a gritty, tough, and ultra-physical interior OL who stepped up, took on, and occasionally dominated Big School, 11-man rushers with impressive ease and edge. Forthun came up from a rep against Cambridge-Isanti's Knowlton bleeding from his lip and mouth in gladiator-esque fashion, and I loved to see him hop right back into the mix and look for more work against more big, strong competition. With a 6'3 wing and two 4.78 shuttles, Forthun did a good job of working laterally to cut off rushing moves, and his long arms helped him stonewall rushers once he got his powerful mitts on. Great base, tons of balance, and a naturally strong kid with grit. Gotta like OL with an edge, and Forthun isn't afraid to mix it up. His OL coaches picked him as a finalist for his efforts!

[player_tooltip player_id='1612774' first='Sam' last='Brick'] (Paynesville) 2026. 6'4, 244 lbs.

A big-time rankings stock riser out of the OL group thanks to his athleticism and stellar 1v1 play on Sunday, Paynesville's [player_tooltip player_id='1612774' first='Sam' last='Brick'] clocked in with 9.25" hands, a 4.91 and 4.94 shuttle, and an eye-catching 8'8 and 8'4 broad jump, and he put the mobility and explosiveness to good use during competition. Brick was one of the best linemen in attendance in terms of lateral agility and balance, and he had strong hands that carried noticeable pop when he put them on DL. Lots of hard-earned wins were won by the Paynesville native on Sunday morning!

[player_tooltip player_id='1489428' first='Evan' last='Zabel'] (Alexandria) 2026. 6'3, 285 lbs.

Undoubtedly one of the best OL in attendance, Alexandria's [player_tooltip player_id='1489428' first='Evan' last='Zabel'] had a fantastic showing on Sunday at the PrepRedzoneMN 2025 Combine Series, shutting down Big School and small town rushers alike, with all types of pass rush moves, specialties, and sizes mixed in between. It was game over when the recent Air Force offeree got his hands on, and he could smoothly and fluidly gain depth in pass set and work laterally to cut off DL and get to the top of the arc. With his nimble footwork and natural bend, Zabel was aided by his 6'6 wingspan, which helped him get his hands on effectively, and he was also explosive out of his stance and played with real physicality and toughness at the contact point. The athleticism, mobility, not to mention the 9.5" hand and 8'4 broad, all but guaranteed that he'll be seeing his ranking rise this weekend.

Big-time stock rising performance from Orono's [player_tooltip player_id='1602733' first='Wes' last='McLean'] on Sunday. Someone's due for a ranking bump! The stout, powerfully built McLean measured in with a 6'4 wingspan and clocked a 4.97 shuttle at a legit 260+, and he earned more than his fair share of 1v1 wins during the Showcase's competition. Strong kid, balanced base, consistent technique, and tough were a good combination for McLean on Sunday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1656097' first='Liam' last='Nessler'] (Mankato East) 2027. 6'3, 248 lbs.

A well-needed new name in a Minnesota 2027 recruiting class that is sadly lacking in size and OL depth, Nessler was light on his feet, nimble, and used his massive 6'7" wingspan to handle rushers in pass pro 1v1s. He clocked a 4.97 shuttle and a 7'11" broad jump to showcase some athleticism, and had some good 1v1 wins against both speed and power rushers. Can't wait to get him on the rankings, and yet another fun Mankato East product to know!

If I'm remembering this correctly, Watters is a TE who came to the first session to compete with the linemen as a blocker. Impressive in itself, but Watters' frame and game really translate well to OL in college, and Watters showed off a clean pass and footwork, toughness at the contact point, active hands, and a thick, powerful, and noticeable lower body, where he can generate his power from. Only a sophomore, this kid already has a really high floor for a college team needing strength and technique at the line of scrimmage.

[player_tooltip player_id='1453214' first='Jack' last='Badon'] (Eden Prairie) 2027. 6'2, 227.

As he showed on tape, Badon is built and moves like a LB from his iOL spot, and he measured in with a 6'4, wing and an 8' broad at a growing 227+ pounds. Consistent technique like you expect from EP Eagles and a lot of room to grow and fill in.

[player_tooltip player_id='1633452' first='Jake' last='Anderson'] (Eden Prairie) 2027. 6'3, 244 lbs.

Tons to like with sophomore Anderson, who owned a powerfully built 6'3, 244 with more room to grow. As is typical with Eden Prairie prospects, Anderson's technique was strong and consistent, and he had a couple of good reps showing off his pass pro footwork, where he can gain depth to handle speed rushers and drop his base to absorb contact. Only a sophomore too!

[player_tooltip player_id='1654378' first='Qwadir' last='Davis'] (Brooklyn Center) 2026. 6', 280 lbs.

Possessing a wild 6'7" wingspan, Davis earned some good wins against some of the top rushers in attendance, using his length and lateral agility to redirect and win at the contact point. Recruit. Brooklyn. Center. Coaches!

[player_tooltip player_id='232204' first='Eldrick' last='Tyus-Vang'] (Park Center) 2028. 5'11, 253 lbs.

Despite the age gap between Tyus-Vang and most of his DL competition, the Park Center freshman did a great job of hanging tough, relying on his technique, and competing his tail off to earn some hard-fought wins against upperclassmen competition. Tyus-Vang is a naturally strong kid with good balance who can absorb and redistribute contact, and his naturally low pad level also aid him at the contact point.

All-Eye Test, All-Testing Team, and All-Camp First Team are due for Princeton's sophomore sackmaster [player_tooltip player_id='1288296' first='Carson' last='Pruett'], one of the best EDGE's in all of Minnesota who also possesses the athleticism to play off-ball linebacker if need be. Pruett measures in at nearly 6'2, with a 6'4" wingspan, 9.5" hands, and some excellent athletic data points that are only getting better. Pruett popped off a 4.87 40, 4.5 and 4.41 shuttle, 9'7 and 9'11 broad, and 7.35 and 7.34 L-drill for some fantastic numbers at his size, and he was nearly unstoppable during 1v1s, flying out of his stance and upfield like he was shot out of a cannon, and his size, get-off, and raw power were a frightening combination that forced OL backward and occasionally even out of the way due to a hard-to-admit business decision. Plus, Pruett had twitch for days, could easily transition from speed to power effectively, and owned a mean bull rush that nearly put a couple of OL flat on their rear end throughout 1v1s. Pruett's overall playspeed was a nightmare for OL to handle, and I see a lot of [player_tooltip player_id='234882' first='Graysen' last='Schneider'] - who is heading to Montana State in this 2025 class - in the Princeton sophomore's game. This dude is a gamechanger.

2025 PrepRedzoneMN Combine Series DL MVP [player_tooltip player_id='1452200' first='Nehemiah' last='Ombati'] has really come a long way since I saw him at the LineofScrimmage Holiday Camp this past Christmas, using his great size at a premier position to great effect, especially when combined with his 6'6 wing, 4.75 and 4.94 shuttle, and 8' broad that he popped off in Plymouth on Sunday. Ombati can win in a variety of ways, showing off the deepest toolbag of rushes in attendance while using them all to great effect during 1v1s. Ombati had a great bull rush that could create big separation from OL when he locked out and extended his arms, and showed a lot more comfort and instinct in terms of how to manipulate OL, get them off-balance, and take advantage with quick steps and counters. The 261 lber. was unstoppable when using power moves, and added a very effective long arm/stab to his repertoire since the last time I've seen him. The sheer amount of 1v1 wins he earned in Plymouth was enough to name Ombati DL MVP. Great showing by the Top 10 sophomore out of Waconia.

You don't find big bodies like this Stillwater Pony product very often, and at a premium position like DT, [player_tooltip player_id='1629870' first='Andrew' last='Olson'] has the chance to make some serious noise on the recruiting trail. Also the Ponies varsity heavyweight wrestler, Olson clocked in at a verified 6'3, 285 lbs., fantastic size for a DT, and to sweeten the pot, he measured a 6'5.5" wingspan, a 4.9 shuttle, and a nearly 8' broad. Additionally, he was nearly unstoppable during 1v1s, displaying tons of raw power, a great get-off and effective first step, and some impressive bend and natural leverage for his size and age. With a brutal power rushing game, Olson had one of the most dominant 1v1 reps of the morning session, putting an OG flat on their butt in a dominant display of strength and pop. I feel vindicated in ranking him so high on the 2027 Big Board, and Olson's future is bright on both the gridiron and wrestling mat.

[player_tooltip player_id='1602672' first='Kyson' last='Arndt'] (Minneota) 2026. 6'5, 222 lbs.

One of the Top 5 prospects I was most excited to see on Sunday, Minneota's Monster of a 2026 DE [player_tooltip player_id='1602672' first='Kyson' last='Arndt'] was a can't-miss athlete who is an easy choice for First-Off-The-Bus honors, measuring in at a now-verified 6'5, 222 pounds with a 6'4.5" wingspan and a ton of room to fill in. His long arms hold his 222 pounds well, and he's strapped with lean muscles that hold impressive power and physicality in them. Also excitingly, Arndt went 4.56 in the shuttle, 9'6 and 9' in the broad, and two 7.1 L-drills for some excellent - as well as D1-worthy - testing and athletic numbers. The Minneota junior's explosive and rare play speed at his size was as eye-catching as it was effective, and he fired off the ball with outstanding burst, as well as pad level. His fast-twitch muscles showed up in both drills and 1v1 competition, where he racked up more than his fair share of wins thanks to his length, get-off, short-area quickness, and explosiveness. He's going to have to prove it this summer, and possibly padded up, but Arndt has all of the tools to play D1 football. Excited to have another highly-touted pass rusher in our decorated PrepRedzoneMN Showcase alumni list.

No wonder Providence Academy's [player_tooltip player_id='1629872' first='Jon' last='Wiseman'] has been so successful at LineofScrimmage events! You have to take risks when ranking young prospects, and big-time DT [player_tooltip player_id='1629872' first='Jon' last='Wiseman'] was a highly debuting sophomore who, although I had seen him live a few times, I had no athletic context or information on the potentially big-time DT prospect. Well, Wiseman did me well, as he measured in with a 6'5" wing, 9.75" hands, two 4.84 shuttles, and a 7'9 broad jump, all at a verified 6'2, 279 pounds. At a premier position on the recruiting trail, Wiseman has real-deal athleticism, and he comes alive during competition, blowing up OL during 1v1s thanks to his raw power, natural bend and pad level, and hand usage, which includes some lead in his hands, and some loose hips for his size nd age. The lateral agility, as well as power moves, are effective for him in 1v1 settings consistently. Great job, young buck!

[player_tooltip player_id='1642211' first='Zivad' last='Robinson'] (MPLS Camden) 2027. 6'3, 263 lbs.

The newest member of the Minnesota 2027 Class's Top 20, as well as one of my favorite prospects in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Robinson came in at 6'3, 263 pounds, with a massive 6'8" wingspan and 10" hands to really emphasize some D1-worthy size for a sophomore DL/OG. Robinson also went 4.85 in the shuttle and two 8'1 broad jumps, despite being somewhat unfamiliar with the drills and movement, and Robinson also came alive during the 1v1 portion of the camp. His work at LineofScrimmage was showing up well during 1v1s, as he cuts tight off the hips of OL once he gets them off balance or out of position, mostly due to his huge, strong hands, raw power, and effective hand usage, and he did a great job of firing off the snap low, highlighting some natural bend for a kid of his size and age. Robinson did a good job of countering OL's movements and punches, could string together pass rush moves, and stayed active and twitchy every rep. I am very bullish on this young man's future and projection to the D1 ranks. Stay on the lookout for MPLS Camden in 2025!

[player_tooltip player_id='1205924' first='Nehemiah' last='Schwinghammer'] (Bemidji) 2027. 6', 226 lbs.

One of my favorite sleepers in the DL class, Bemidji product [player_tooltip player_id='1205924' first='Nehemiah' last='Schwinghammer'] is already a decorated prep wrestler who recently went on an unofficial for the Gopher wrestling team, and his compact, powerful frame, wrestling background, and deep bag of pass rushing moves and counters made him one of the winningest and toughest matchups for Combine Series OL on Sunday. Schwinghammer won with a long arm/stab, a big-time bull rush, and some twitchy inside and outside breaking moves, not to mention a mean jab step, to round out his overall balanced and effective pass rushing toolkit. A good athlete with a 6'2" wingspan, Schwinghammer also posted good short shuttle times and a nearly 9' broad jump for good measure. Either on the gridiron or the wrestling mat, some college program is going to get a stud.

[player_tooltip player_id='1629196' first='Trevor' last='Bodell'] (Monticello) 2026. 6'2, 221 lbs.

One of my favorite sleepers from the 2025 PRzMN Combine Series, Bodell was a rock solid 6'2, 220 lbs. with a 6'4 wingspan and a ton of room to fill in, and he tested well, with bests of a 4.72 and 4.69 shuttle and 8'4 broad. Bodell was one of the twitchiest rushers in attendance, who used that short-area quickness to get OL reaching, guessing, and mistiming their punches, where he could easily jab step and work by them with ease. Bodell earned some impressive and big-time wins throughout 1v1s and had a great, stock rising day thanks to his individual performance.

Flashed a deeper bag of pass rush moves than I expected and was notably impressive in 1v1s, where he got some good wins using a shifty inside cut and a spin move that he set up beautifully, baiting the OL to lean over his toes and get in a poor position.
I was both surprised and impressed by the Brooklyn Center Centaur's dominant 1v1 performance, but sophomore Anthony Benson made some noise once competition began to heat up. Going against quality competition, Benson had arguably the most powerful and effective punch in attendance that literally lifted OC's off their feet and backward for physically dominant 1v1 wins. Great pad level, lead in his hands, and as strong as a bull, Benson was not fun to line up against on Sunday in Plymouth.

A promising and budding freshman DE from the 9man ranks who just made a big debut on the 2028 Big Board, Edgerton's [player_tooltip player_id='1651467' first='Tanner' last='Thomson'] has some juice, clocking a 4.69 and 4.66 shuttle and an 8'2" broad jump to highlight some notable athleticism, and he also came alive during 1v1s. Thomson had a versatile skillset that applied his length, quickness, and get-off to earn some hard-earned wins against older, experienced, 11-man, Big School competition, and he was a tough kid who didn't back down from the competition. A great learning experience for the young man, I'm excited to see how the Edgerton freshman continues to develop going forward.

Not the biggest DL in attendance, however, Gatlin was one of the most effective, earning a Best vs. Best nod from his DL coaches thanks to a sometimes unstoppable 1v1 streak of wins against OL competition. Gatlin had a real effective knack to play an OL's hands well, get his own mitts on, unlock his hips, and adjust his body laterally to tightly disengage and shoot past OL's hips with ease. OL couldn't get a grip on Gatlin, literally or figuratively.

Someone is due for a rankings bump! Dungan came in with verified size that can really do some damage at the college level, and to make things sweeter, it was also close to what he reports on Twitter! Thanks for the honesty, Milo! Additionally, Dungan was an eye-catcher physically who was a fluid mover during testing, where he initially caught my eye, and he adds a 6'2" wing, 4.91 shuttle, 8'5 and 8'3 broad jump for good measure. Dungan earned some strong wins during 1v1s thanks to his natural bend and deep bag of pass-rushing moves, which included a lethal spin move that he threw out with effectiveness. I'm high on the Red Knights DE after seeing him live and in person on Sunday in Plymouth.

Wearing the PRZ Showcase cut-off about as tight as can be, Knowlton was built and shredded in superhero-like proportions, as his 6'2, 243 pounds looked like it was well under 10% body fat, and he also possessed a 6'5" wing, 9.5" hand, and 4.66 shuttle during testing. Knowlton was having fun with it during 1v1s, toying and playing with would-be blockers before disengaging and overpowering for big-time wins against high-quality competition. His raw power at the point of attack, as well as shifty lateral agility, were hard for OL to manage in Plymouth. No wonder NSIC University of Jamestown have already reached out!

[player_tooltip player_id='1629951' first='Isaiah' last='Friese'] (New Ulm) 2027. 6'4, 216 lbs.

An exciting sophomore who is going to climb some spots thanks to his PRzMN Combine Series performance, Friese did a great job of cutting tight off OL's hips and has some real twitch that he proved during both testing and 1v1 competition. I saw a couple good 1v1 wins throughout my time watching the New Ulm sophomore.

[player_tooltip player_id='1602698' first='Peyton' last='Allen'] (Sartell-St. Stephen) 2026. 6'6, 214 lbs.

My word, talk about upside. High potential, high ceiling, high upside, whatever you want to call it, Sartell's [player_tooltip player_id='1602698' first='Peyton' last='Allen'] has it. The recent Air Force offeree owns a 6'7" wingspan, about as much room as humanly possible to fill in and add weight, a 4.84 shuttle, and a 8'4 and 8'5 broad jump. The leanest 214 pounds I've ever seen, Allen was easily able to win using inside moves against XL OTs, thanks to his standout lateral agility, and his length created real problems for OTs trying to block him as well. Great move by Air Force getting in early.

[player_tooltip player_id='1262647' first='Ryan' last='Layeux'] (Eastview) 2026. 6', 227 lbs.

Possessing a eye-popping 6'7" wingpsan, Layeux had some of the best hips in attendance and was able to flip and unlcok his hips at all before working tightly off an opponents backside. He was also quick, technically sound, and showed some twitch for good measure! Someone rose their rank on Sunday!

If you aren't already aware, the Brooklyn Center 2028 class is special, and these now-Centaurs have been playing together since their middle school days with the Minnesota Panthers. Our own [player_tooltip player_id='1292716' first='Nate' last='Wahl'] covered that very same Panthers team back in the day, led by now-Hopkins QB and #1 ranked 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='1651164' first='Tre' last='Moore'], as well as #3 ranked [player_tooltip player_id='1658187' first='Alpha' last='Meaway']. A spectacular running back with athleticism, confidence, and competitiveness well above your average freshman. Meaway stayed for both sessions of the PrepRedzoneMN Combine Series, so you'll be hearing about him again soon, but the nearly 5'10, 171 lber. measured in with a 6' wing, an impressive 4.75 40, a quick 4.5 shuttle, an 8'10" broad jump, and a blazing 6.93 L-drill, all as a 15-year-old freshman. With smooth, twitchy footwork, noticeable balance, and a knack for missing people miss, Meaway had one of the session's top plays, putting one of the showcase's best linebackers flat on his butt and snatching his ankles with a dirty cut in a short area, track-the-hip drill 1v1. Meaway was also lethal during 1v1s, with a good foundation of route-running skills and quickness at the top of the route. The sky is the limit for this young buck.

[player_tooltip player_id='1655336' first='Tyshone' last='Jenkins'] (MPLS North) 2027. 6', 193 lbs.

My oh my, what a breakout star, top performer, and new name we have on our hands in Minneapolis North sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1655336' first='Tyshone' last='Jenkins']. Maintaining the phenomenal line of athleticism to come out of the Polars since Head Coach Charles Adams has taken over, Jenkins blew the testing portion of the Showcase out of the water, measuring in at 6', 193 pounds with an impressive 6'7 wingspan and nearly 10" hands as a sophomore. He also popped off a nearly 4.7 40, a 4.72 shuttle, and a 9'5 & 9'9 broad in what was his first introduction to a lot of these drills. Jenkins was undoubtedly an eye catcher, and he backed it up by proving himself to be a powerful and sudden one-cut back with quick, nimble footwork, and a ton of physicality and toughness in his game. Jenkins was a beast during 1v1 pass pro reps against LBs, and was comfortable and effective as a route runner as well. After speaking with a couple coaches in attendance scouting, we all seemed to agree that the sophomore could potentially be a heckuva LB at the next level if he wanted to as well. Combining the athleticism, upside, physicality, and competitive drive he showed at the Showcase, and you have quite an exciting 2027 on your hands. I can't wait to see this dude in pads in a few months.

[player_tooltip player_id='402073' first='James' last='Engle'] (Maple Grove) 2026. 5'8, 175 lbs.

Two Maple Grove juniors, two positional MVPs. A multi-time PRzMN Showcase standout, Engle has been well covered by our scouts, and I've mentioned that on just about any other team besides MG this past season, Engle is a featured back. However, due to the depth in that legendary Crimson 2025 class, Engle played a more secondary or tertiary role, but he's a dynamic, explosive, and playmaking offensive weapon who is one of the faster juniors in Minnesota going into next season. We've clocked him as high as the low 4.6s in the 40 throughout his multiple Showcase appearances, and on Sunday, he went 4.72 on the 40, as well as 4.19 and 4.34 in the shuttle, 9'5 on the broad, and 6.93 and 6.97 on the L-drill, two of the better L-drill times of the whole camp. The burners were notable during drill work and anytime he was allowed to operate in space, as he took the sideline and flew past LBs with noticeable ease during drills and, unsurprisingly, displayed one of the most explosive pass-catching games of the entire session. Engle could get open with consistency, win vertically, and was sudden at the top of the route, earning a ton of 1v1 wins throughout the day. Good hands as well. Engle was named RB MVP by the coaches in attendance for his efforts. It'll be a breakout year for the Crimson 2026, just watch!

I was very bullish on Forest Lake's [player_tooltip player_id='1289874' first='Mack' last='Jurkovich'] coming into the 2025 PrepRedzoneMN Combine Series, thanks to the 6A competitor's early varsity experience, impressive track times, and continual development, and yet somehow I left Plymouth even more impressed with the 2027 tailback. Built like a brick, with thick shoulders and a powerfully built lower body, Jurkovich was fantastic in all three phases of the Showcase, starting with the testing. Possessing a 5'10" wing, Jurkovich popped off a blazing 4.69 and 4.62 40, twitchy 4.09 and 4.4 shuttle, and impressive 9'9 and 9'8 broad, not to mention a 6.87 and 7.06 L-drill, making for one of the best testing performances across either section. I got to see Jurkovich primarily during 1v1 pass pro blocks against the LBs, where he stood his ground, dropped his base, and ate some punishing bull rushes for breakfast, showing some rare and impressive toughness, strength, and physicality. His speed and quickness also showed up all throughout drill work, and he passed the eye test with flying colors. Should be a great 2025 for the Forest Lake Ranger.

My oh my, what do we have here! , is in contention for one of the breakout stars and performers of the entire PrepRedzoneMN Combine Series, as we were unfamiliar with the Brainerd product coming into the event and sure left feeling silly for not knowing his name before Sunday. Barnum will make an appearance on the 2025 Combine Series All-Eye Test Team, as the 5'10, 188 lber. was a jacked, well-built, and physically imposing tailback with an impressive upper body in particular, and he put his muscles to good use, popping off a 4.68 40, 4.09 and 4.34 shuttle, 9'8 and 9'6 broad, and 6.81 and 6.69 L-drill. What a showing by the junior! Not only was he athletic, he was tough, putting his face into a couple of streaking LBs attempting to blitz through him with bull rushes, and I enjoyed watching him in drill work, where he burst out of his cuts, and could change direction with ease. Expect him to make a big debut on the 2026 Big Board soon!

One of my favorite RBs of the loaded Session 1 group, Hubbert is a Big School sophomore who saw some limited varsity reps with the Lakers in 2024 and brings real-deal track speed to the table, especially for his age. I was very excited to finally get an up-close-and-personal look at the young buck, and he more than lived up to the hype, passing both the eye and mobility tests while flashing some serious speed during testing and 1v1s. Hubbert popped off two 4.7 40s, a 4.41 and 4.56 shuttle, a 9'3 and 9'4 broad, and 7.25 L-drill to solidify the fact that he belongs in the Big School ranks of competition. Hubbert owns a good build with noticeable muscle definition, was physical and tough during 1v1 pass pro reps, and had a good skillset and effectiveness as a route runner to boot. This kid will be hanging around the upper echelons of the 2027 rankings his whole career.

One of the top multi-sporters in the state of Minnesota, Tappe is a star-studded member of Staples-Motley's vaunted Class A wrestling squad and is an electric watch on the gridiron, playing on both sides of the ball and showing an easy knack for the big play. Tappe is due for a big-time rankings bump after his performance in Plymouth, as he balled out in all three phases of the PRzMN Combine, showing his unique athleticism in front of college coaches and media members. 9" hands, sub 4.8 in the 40, 4.28 and 4.44 in the shuttle, 9' in the broad, and 7.25 and 7.19 in the L-drill to really highlight his COD ability. Tappe passed the eye test physically, was more than capable of holding his own and protecting the QB in pass pro reps against LBs, and was dynamic as a route runner and pass catcher.
An experienced and talented JCC Husky and PrepRedzoneMN Showcase standout performer, Johnson once again showed off his physical frame, dynamic skillset, and overall athleticism in Plymouth, measuring in at 186 pounds with a 6' wing, a notable 4.88 40, two 4.56 shuttle, a 9' broad, and two 7.25 L-drills for a strong day in the testing department. Not only was Johnson a tough, technically sound blocker, he also had some of the better hands of the RB group and did a good job of getting open and reeling in receptions consistently through 1v1s. He'll be a big part of JCC's hopeful state championship repeat in 2025.

A high-debuting freshman on the inaugural rankings drop, Pinney owns some electric non-varsity tape from 2024, and he showed why he's such a playmaker at Sunday's PRzMN Showcase, catching my eye in all three facets of Session 1. Pinney owns a good frame that is bound to grow significantly over the course of the next year and change, and he was twitchy during both positional drills and 1v1s, when he had to shake a tracking LB in the box and create separation as a route runner in the passing game. Could be a high-powered legacy tailback to try and fill [player_tooltip player_id='743274' first='Kevon' last='Johnson']'s cleats. Also went nearly 4.8 in the 40, 4.53 and 4.54 in the shuttle, and 8'5 in the broad jump!

[player_tooltip player_id='1651666' first='Revis' last='Cooney'] (St. Thomas Academy) 2028. 5'7, 151 lbs.

A jitterbug of a freshman tailback, Prescott, Wisconsin product [player_tooltip player_id='1651666' first='Revis' last='Cooney'] was an eye-catcher physically, especially amongst the freshman class in attendance, with some lean muscle definition and a good frame for the position. Cooney displayed quick feet and good change of direction ability, and he handled drill work well for a first-year high school football player. Cooney was also tough, stepping up and into contact during 1v1 pass pro drills against the LBs and repping hard-nosed, effective blocks against upperclassmen LB opponents. I also liked his soft hands, making the freshman a budding three-down LB and a new name to add to the debuting 2028 rankings drop.

A rising senior Cadet tailback I was very excited to see live and in person, Dom Baez lived up to the hype. He weighed in lighter than I was expecting, which really emphasizes and impresses his natural contact balance and toughness as a ball carrier when padded up, but Baez got to show off his quickness and explosiveness on Sunday, clocking a 4.53 and 4.54 shuttle and an 8'5 broad jump for good measure. Baez was unsurprisingly tough and stingy during pass pro drills, and did a good job during 1v1 routes as well, creating separation against LBs well. I think there's a lot of upside in Baez, and if you put 20 pounds on him in a college S&C program, you're going to have a beast of a ball carrier on your hands. Another good showing by an STA Cadet!

A fan favorite of the PrepRedzoneMN scouts and media in attendance, as well as a new name to the PRzMN radar, Shakopee sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1656423' first='Bryce' last='Jensen'] was a physical eye catcher, especially amongst his fellow sophomores, with a cut up, muscle 176 lb. build, and he measured in with 9" hands and a very notable 6'2" wingspan. He caught a couple of our scouts' attention right off the bat, popping off two 4.62 40s, a 4.72 shuttle, and two 9'2 broad jumps, as well as a 7.5 L-drill, to back up the impressive build, and he really put that straight-line speed to good use during 1v1 routes against LBs, where he could explode out of his cuts and win vertically on wheel routes. Pumped to get this kid on the rankings!

I'm always going to highlight and commend toughness, and Hooks has some grit, as he had a fight or flight moment during pass pro 1v1s against LBs, where, after he took some licks, the sophomore stepped up and took on a sprinting linebacker coming in full throttle for a beautiful block and win. He was rightfully pumped about it, and I liked his competitiveness and ability to rise to the moment. Yet another young Lakeville North athlete to know.

One of a strong contingent of Stewartville performers that made waves at the PrepRedzoneMN Combine, sophomore RB [player_tooltip player_id='1654039' first='Simon' last='Emanuel'] was a new name to our radar who continually caught my eye and attention during positional drill work and 1v1 competition. Emanuel had noticeable burst and sudden cutting ability, which he highlighted during testing with a 4.25 & 4.22 shuttle, 7.1 & 7.22 L-drill, and 8'8 & 9'1 broad, was smooth and impressive changing direction during drills, and had a good pass pro block that saw him absorb and eat a LB's full momentum with ease. Good showing from the Tigers' rising playmaker.

The 2025 PrepRedzoneMN Combine Series Showcase MVP, rising senior OLB Thyen represented the defending 6A state champions very well, showing out in all three phases of the camp and showing why he was such an integral and key piece to the Crimson's undefeated state title run last fall. Thyen started by making some noise during testing, where he popped off a 4.68 and 4.69 40, a top 10, maybe 5% 40 performance, and he followed it with an exciting 4.15 and 4.09 shuttle, 9'2 and 9'1 broad jump, and a 7.1 and 6.81 L-drill. You'll be seeing him on the First Team All-Testing Team later this week. Thyen drilled, competed, and generally played fast, closing and flying in on RB's hips in a blink, and did a great job of playing in space overall. He could change direction and cover like a DB while also demonstrating a versatile pass-rushing skillset during pass pro reps versus RBs.
I couldn't have been more stoked when I saw Stewie's stud ILB [player_tooltip player_id='1605829' first='Isaac' last='Spencer']'s name on our signup roster, and he lived up to the hype, especially in competition against RBs. Spencer measured in at a towering 6'4, 223 pounds, with a near 6'5 wingspan and 10" hands, and he was smooth, subtle, and powerful when changing direction as well as sticking his cleat in the turf and working vertically upfield. Spencer was simply scaring RBs out of his path during 1v1 pass pro reps, and could overpower opponents at the contact point, as well as use his length effectively to disengage from blocks around the LOS. Spencer closed with noticeable burst, was comfortable and effective in space, tested well, and even covered well during 1v1s, especially on routes to the first two levels of the field. Someone is going to get a linebacker ready-made for the next level.

Someone is due for a huge rankings bump! Even if you tried, there was no way one couldn't have been impressed by Anoka's sophomore linebacker Ben Bergan. A legit 6'2, 215+, Bergan looked like he was sculpted out of clay, with an NCAA Create-A-Player build and muscle definition as a young sophomore, a frame that made waves in person at the PrepRedzoneMN 2025 Combine Series, with coaches and media members checking and rechecking their roster packets to check on #145. A front-of-the-line, natural leader, and motivated competitor, Bergan took a ton of reps throughout the positional drills and 1v1s, and possesses a coachable demeanor that is competitive and determined to succeed and improve. He also tested well, with a 6'3" wing, 9.5" hands, a near sub-5-second 40, a 4.44 and 4.34 shuttle, 9'4 broad, and 7.41 L-drill. A three-down linebacker no doubt, Bergan had one of hte most physical plays of the entire Showcase, putting a kid flat on his butt and creating an audible "thud" during pass pro 1v1 reps, and he could rush the passer and defeat blocks with either speed and/or power. He could also flip his hips, stick & plant, and trigger on routes to force PBUs, especially around the flats and hook/curl, and was a dynamic linebacker who is going to strike fear in the hearts of opponents once he's padded up in person as a rising junior. Keep an eye on Bergan next fall, if he can keep improving his speed, he's got the chance to be unstoppable under Friday Night Lights.

One of the best linebackers in Minnesota, Park of Cottage Grove's [player_tooltip player_id='923835' first='Aidan' last='Boche'] was a can't-miss prospect out of the talented LB group, coming in at a now-verified 6'3+ and 204 pounds, with a 6'4 wingspan and a ton of room to fill in. His long arms helped him show off a versatile pass rushing skillset, and he was one of the LB's best testers, going 4.8 in the 40, 4.25 & 4.4 in the shuttle, 10.25" hands, 9'6 and 9'9 in the broad, and two 7.25 L-drill reps for good measure. His COD ability showed up very well, as he was one of the best coverage linebackers at the 2025 PrepRedzoneMN Combine Series, where his length showed up at the catch point and he did a good job of remaining in phase with RBs throughout their routes from the backfield. Still waiting on that first offer too!

[player_tooltip player_id='1120535' first='Garett' last='Bauer'] (Monticello) 2026. 5'11, 209 lbs.

A unanimous favorite of the PRzMN scouts in attendance, Bauer was a bowling ball of a rising senior, with impressive muscle definition that passed the eye test with flying colors. With a 6'2" wingspan and 9.25" hands, Bauer went 4.9 in the 40, 4.44 and 4.38 in the shuttle, 9'4 in the broad, and 7.55 in the L-drill, and he showed off a versatile pass rushing skillset during 1v1s against RBs while also showing good footwork and hips in pass coverage. Should be a monster senior year for Bauer this fall.

Someone's due for a ranking bump! I was itching to see Cannon Falls OLB [player_tooltip player_id='1629194' first='Grady' last='Meyers'] live and in person, and he more than lived up to the hype. Despite being a little beat up from playing baseball, Meyers had a strong showing in all three phases of the PrepredzoneMN 2025 Combine Series. With a 6'5 wingspan and nearly 10" hands, Meyers went nearly 4.8 in the 40, put up two shuttles in the 4.5s, 8'3 and 8'4 in the broad, and a 7.5 L-drill for good measure. his length was a nightmare for RBs to try and handle in 1v1 blitzing scenarios, and he could flip his hips and change direction very well for his size. Did someone say "three-down linebacker"?

[player_tooltip player_id='1629953' first='Tyler' last='Ruff'] (Lakeville North) 2027. 6'1, 196 lbs.

One of the 2027 linebackers I was most excited to see at the 2025 PrepRedzoneMN Combine Series Showcase, Lakeville North's [player_tooltip player_id='1629953' first='Tyler' last='Ruff'] was also one of the best wrestlers in attendance, going deep into the 2025 3A state championship bracket and podium as an underclassman to back up some serious varsity tick as a sophomore on the gridiron. A now-verified 6'1, 196 pounds with a ton of room to grow, Ruff owns a 6'3" wing and 9.5" hands and was a coach's favorite, earning a possible nod for MVP at the end of the first session, and I could see why. Sees, triggers, and closes with pace, Ruff is impressive in space and especially as a blitzer and/or when closing on RBs 1v1. Good showing through testing, positional drills, and 1v1 competition for the sophomore Panther.

[player_tooltip player_id='1288402' first='Jordan' last='Heimer'] (Byron) 2027. 6'1, 198 lbs.

A familiar name and multi-time PrepRedzoneMN Showcase standout, Byron's [player_tooltip player_id='1288402' first='Jordan' last='Heimer'] once again showed out during testing, but man, I was very impressed by his performance during drill work against RBs. Comfortable both blitzing against and covering RBs, Heimer was my favorite LB during a traditional favorite drill placing the RBs on the sideline, the LBs diagonal from them, and limited space to maneuver, pitting the two competitors in a box with either the tackler or the ball carrier coming out on top. Heimer closed so quickly that RBs could barely react, plays with great angles, and can breakdown and react well in space. Another plus in-person showing from the younger Heimer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1402779' first='Luke' last='Bjerga'] (Staples-Motley) 2026. 5'9, 190 lbs.

One of the the biggest thumpers and top performers of the 2024 Prep Bowl, Bjerga is also a heckuva wrestler, and he showed that top-tier physicality any time he could. A powerfully built, thick, 5'9, 190, Bjerga was an absolute bully during 1v1 pass pro reps between RBs and blitzing linebackers. Bjerga put a RB flat on his butt in embarrassing fashion, and did a good job in man coverage throughout the end of the session.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581379' first='Logan' last='Kleist'] (Mankato East) 2026. 5'11, 204 lbs.

Coming in at a notable 5'11, 204 pounds, Kleist measured in with an eye-catching 6'4 wingspan and 9.5" hands to certify himself as a physical eye-catcher and possible All-Eye Test candidate from the 2025 PrepRedzoneMN Combine Series. Additionally, he went nearly 4.8 in the 40, a 4.31 shuttle, a 9'9 broad, and a 7.14 L-drill, using the COD ability and explosiveness well in coverage drills against RBs during 1v1 competition. Kleist showed some juice as a blitzer, winning some 1v1 reps with flashy effectiveness. Don't sleep on the Mankato East junior class this coming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581342' first='Brian' last='Sowada'] (Blaine) 2026. 6'3, 179 lbs.

A 6A EDGE I was excited to finally get eyes on, Sowada showed a ton of upside, with a lean, now-verified 6'3, 179 pounds and a 6'4 wingspan with noticeable room to fill in. He showed why he could hang around the LOS in the Big School ranks during drills and 1v1s, showing an effective ability to go speed to power as a rusher. Great frame, good technique, pass rushing ability, two 4.5 shuttles, and an 8'7 broad jump to boot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1270305' first='Fua' last='Taumalolo'] (STMA Middle School East) 2029! 5'9, 216 lbs.

Yes, you saw that right, we have a stud 2029 on our hands! Coming out of the St. Michael area, 8th grade LB/RB [player_tooltip player_id='1270305' first='Fua' last='Taumalolo'] is actually not a stranger to me, as I coincidentally play rugby with both Fua and his father in Minneapolis, but I incorrectly assumed that Fua was already in high school due to his size and obvious athleticism. Well, turns out the young buck is only an 8th grader, and he was playing, and somewhat dominating, JV for St. Michael-Albertville High School in 2024. Fua put up strong athletic numbers for his age and size, nearly going sub-5-seconds in the 40, 4.7 in the shuttle, and 8' in the broad despite this being one of his earlier introductions to these specific tests, and he fit in more than well against varsity upperclassmen in attendance. Packing heavy hands, Taumalolo could change direction smoothly, was a physical and capable blitzer against RBs in pass pro, and is overall fluid and athletic in a camp setting. I cannot wait to see this young buck in pads with the Eagles the next few years.
