Shakopee was the talk of the Bemidji State War on the Shore Team Camp thanks to their plethora of Division 1 recruits and commits, and leading their trench warfare play was Nebraska Cornhuskers commit Nehemiah Ombati. Coming off a prolific offseason that saw him experience competition against OL from all around the country thanks to a strong campaign on the rising 5v5 circuit, Ombati flashed straight-up dominate athletic ability and size, not to mention an aggressive motor, that could take over a drive seemingly at will. I was interested to see that he was getting significant reps on the OL as both an OG or TE, and at a legit 6’3-6’4, 295 pounds, it was a fun watch, to say the least. PRZMN made sure to try and get as much of a look at Shako as we could with respect to other teams, and Ombati, as one of the handful of legit P4 prospects in attendance, was at entertaining as it got. He was a crushing run blocker and played a good amount of guard and occasionally TE for the Sabers, who were rotating between their new RPO attack and their traditional triple-option/veer offense.
From what he saw during a couple mixers and War on the Shore, Ombati produced a big-time TFL vs. Maple Grove that was brutal, dominant, and seemed easy for the young man. He also had a big shock, shed, flat-down the-LOS collision for no gain against Maple Grove in do-or-die time at the War on the Shore. Also flashed fantastic and eye-catching pursuit speed + effort. Was chasing down ball carriers out to the sideline in multiple team scrimmages that PRZMN got eyes on. For Huskers’ fans: Ombati noted to us that he wants to come into Lincoln early, put his best foot forward, and get on the field as quickly as possible.

is our DL1 for a reason in the 2027 class and did not waste any time showing why that’s been the case for a while now. His high motor was evident in the defensive trenches and I felt Nehemiah was more powerful getting to the edges of the inside box with his fluid movement than what I saw out my last live eval from a handful of months ago. He was relentless with winning the 1v1 battles in the trenches and there were countless times where his enforcement in the backfield cause a handful of off-line throws due to the physical pressure he put on the QB. There was one particular rep from Nehemiah that stood above the rest even though I didn’t have it on video and was 40+ yards away from the play, the physicality that he showed showed off how much his presence made a difference while leading the Sabers to becoming now back to back War on the Shore Champions in Bemidji.

is having a breakout junior season in the 6A ranks this fall. Currently 4th on the team in tackles with 40, 4th in TFLs with 3, and first in forced fumbles (2), Ombati is the lone Minnesotan to earn his first P4 offer this fall, hearing from the always-MN-friendly Iowa State in early September. Shakopee High School has been a popular destination for D1 coaches the past few cycles, but never more so than with their two-headed P4-monster of

and now Ombati, a long-time frontrunner in the 2027 class who was first seen live at a LOScrimmage event back last winter. Every time we saw this kid after that he seemed to have made significant strides in his development, finally putting things together and culminating in a fantastic summer camp szn that resulted in offers from North Dakota State, South Dakota State, all long-time believers and supporters of Minnesota-bred talent.
Ombati, in his first year with the 6A defending semifinalist, has been a force around Metro-area line of scrimmages, popping up all over the field thanks to his energy, consistent ability to penetrate, and playmaking ability. As a 3T, 2i, or true NG, Ombati opens his tape with a WWE-style suplex of a TFL to start his 2025 midseason tape off with a bang, and he possesses a strong base and can create noticeable separation when he locks out and extends his arm at first contact. Good pad level off the snap and delivers and works through contact with power, and displays the upper body strength and hand usage to disengage from would-be blockers and not get tied up around the LOS in run defense. The 6’3, 265 lber. is twitchy, and he showed off his developed bag of pass-rush moves, as well as instincts, in some pass-rushing reps in his 1-4 midseason tape. High-energy, loves to celebrate, plays with intensity and confidence, relentless motor that has no issues – both athletically and effort-wise – chasing and hawking down ball carriers 10-20 yards downfield, and a bull at the contact point. He needs to get his sack number up, but the tape is looking good through the midseason point. Great move by the Cyclones getting in early!
