When you quickly look for athletes that could make splash plays on Sunday at the MFA Made 7v7 scrimmage, you didn’t have to look far at what new Shakopee 2027 athlete

could do continiously. I felt even when I had my eyes on the offensive line camp, I could hear in the distance the noise Jaxon was making from a far. He caught everything and everything that came his way in high traffic or not. But what surely struck the biggest chord in my live eval of Jaxon was how he could put defensive backs on skates when he used his notably instinctive change of direction that also just so happens to have one of the fastest shuttle times in the Midwest. He holds two FCS offers and I wouldn’t be surprise to see that number rise in the coming months as Jaxon is a gamer in this 2027 class that should be a big weapon upcoming for Shakopee’s offense.

was one of the most electric athletes during the showcase. Brown’s numbers were impressive, posting a 4.59 40 yard time, a 4.02 shuttle, and a 9’3″ broad jump. Brown plays well beyond his size, and he has an impressive amount of range when it comes to going for the ball. Brown’s speed and twitch on his breaks allowed him to win on many of his reps on Sunday. Brown has all the traits to fit the mold of an all-purpose playmaker, and he could have a huge role for Wayzata’s offense in 2025.

Easily one of the most electric playmakers in the 2027 class, Wayzata’s Jaxon Brown also falls into a few additional categories such as “most likely to raise his ranking”, “fastest sophomores”, “most likely to break out in 2024”, and of course: “most versatile.” Brown posted 850 all-purpose yards and 3 TDs with the Trojans varsity in 2024, a nice foundation of varsity reps, splash plays, and experience as an underclassman in the 6A ranks. The 2027 standout has been clocked as fast as 11.54 and 11.6 in the 100M, as well as 24.85 in the 200M as a freshman, in addition to a 9′ pole vault, as we had him clocked as a flying 4.71 in the 40 as a freshman, to mention eye-popping times such as his 4.43 and 4.3 shuttle, 8’9 broad, and 6.84 and 6.81 L-drill. Already possessing verified track and gridiron times is a HUGE plus in his projection to the college level, and that quickness and twitch was on full display as an underclassman, as Brown shows homerun speed with the ball in his hand and the explosiveness to help him take routine jet sweeps to the crib with ease. Brown can win vertically and is easily able to take the top off the defense, tracks and plays the deep ball well, and is a willing and effective blocker out on the perimeter. His versatility is highlighted as a kick returner, with showing a particularly electric return against Minnetonka where he pinballs off two Skipper tackle attempts, slips through another, and bolts up the sideline for a return near the 50 yard line. Also had a good return against Edina that saw him break a few tackles with some quick feet and sudden footwork. Brown is lightning in a bottle, and I can’t wait to see how his role expands now that he’s an upperclassman. Keep an eye out for Wayzata in 2025!

Brown made a couple of nice plays in the passing game. First, he caught a deep ball down the sidelines. Then, he caught a 39-yard touchdown late in the game.
