Expert Analysis
Hayden Lindquist | Prep Redzone Scout
The #1 LB in his class, Boche was a force to be reckoned with last season. In just 9 games, he amassed 71 ttck, 3 TFLs, 2 FR, 2 INTs, and was named First Team All-District. This immense on-field success, paired with his impressive 6’4″ and 200 lb + frame, makes him an ideal prospect for D2 and D1 colleges. One of the most impressive pieces of his game was his pass defense. Boche exceptionally quick for his size, which lends itself perfectly to disrupting passes or lighting up pass-catchers as soon as they catch the ball. He flows to the alley quickly and often, and he does an excellent job of tackling ball carriers at the hip and folding them immediately. Boche is legit and I can’t wait to see offers roll in.

. This is Boche’s first year of 6A varsity action, but he really started to create some momentum on the summer camp trail, where college programs got to check out what we at PrepRedzone have gotten to see at a couple of our showcases, namely his excellent frame, length, athleticism (4.56 shuttle, 9’1, broad, 7.28 L-drill), three-down LB ability, and physicality. Boche has done a good job of transferring that momentum into his in-season play, and the junior film looks good, earning Boche a nod on one of our in-season features naming some of the top Minnesota 2026 and 2027s next up to earn a Division 1 offer. Boche has earned gameday invites from Northern Illinois x2, Augustana, and South Dakota State, taking an unofficial visit to DeKalb to see the Huskies in October.
According to MNFootballHub, Boche has posted 71 tackles, 3 TFLs, 2 forced fumbles, 2 INTs, and one pick-six in 2024, and the midseason tape shows a long, rangy, physical, and instinctive 3-down LB with a frame that could explode in a college S&C program. He undercuts routes around the hook/curl and flats and shows some natural instincts in coverage for a LB. He can produce INTs and PBUs in both man and zone coverage and does a good job of reading route combinations and dropping into passing lanes. His length helps in a variety of ways, including coverage, and Boche also does a good job of ripping and punching at the ball to force fumbles. The 6’4, 205 lber. is rangy in run defense, closes and fills with pace and urgency, covers ground in run support and when coming up to stick ball carriers around the LOS, and his pursuit speed helps him chase down ball carriers sideline to sideline. Boche takes good angles to the football, closes with pace, and provides some noticeable thump at the contact point as a tackler. He can also make tackles through contact and is a tough blocking assignment for his opponents thanks to his length, quickness, and physicality. Lot to like already and hard not to think of the upside in his frame and athleticism. I’m interested to see who comes calling first!

One of the MN JV players I am most excited about as a collegiate prospect, Park of Cottage Grove’s Aidan Boche has an excellent frame for a LB recruit, measuring in at 6’4 and around 200 pounds at April’s PrepRedzoneMN Combine Series stop in Plymouth, putting up some good athletic numbers along the way, notable his 4.57 shuttle, 9’1 broad, and 7.28 L-drill while looking mobile, physical, and competitive in live action drills and reps.
A good athlete with good size, Boche is a candidate for a breakout performance in 2024 as a junior, and his JV film from 2023 showed a dynamic defender who puts his athleticism to good use as a linebacker. The 6’4, 200 lber. sports a noticeably exciting frame, as he’s tall, long, and has tons of room to fill in, and I could easily see him turning into a monstrous 6’4, 225+ lber. at the next level. He made some safety-esque breaks on the ball in coverage in 2023 and is comfortable playing the ball in the air, even far downfield on deep balls, is a powerful form tackler, and shows good play speed at his size and is an effective blitzer who can win reps with speed, quickness, and/or bend. I’ve been itching to see this kid against varsity competition and it looks like 2024 is Boche’s for the taking.

already clocks in at 6’3, 195 lbs. and reports solid numbers in the weight room that includes a 240 lb. bench and 325 lb. squat that combine for some impressive measurables going into his sophomore campaign with the Wolfpack. With a big frame, length, and fired up, excitable playstyle, Boche is fun to watch, and has a three-down skillset that includes solid speed, the capability to process, read, and trigger on the ball well, and some coverage ability that includes breaking on the ball well. I also like how slippery he is when avoiding blocking attempts, and he’s physical at the contact point and can stuff RBs and prevent extra gains once he puts his pads on them. Boche has some good football in front of him and some exciting recruiting potential given the size, strength, and prospective experience once his varsity career gets going.
