There are faster backs and guys with quicker feet, but his combination of both makes him one of the more effective backs in the state. His vision allows him to make things happen at the line of scrimmage and especially shows up – his speed included – when he bounces runs to the outside. At the second level, he gets separation both with his speed and with the subtle cuts he makes while at full speed. Johnson will not make a living bowling over defenders, but he has enough power and balance to bounce off most arm tackles.
