Washington checks a lot of boxes for the interior DL at the college level. 6’0” 280 lbs. he’s got a compact frame with good size and strength in both his upper body and lower half. He’s got a good mix of power moves and technique to disengage and free himself up from blockers. Excellent hand usage and activity, he’s got a strong initial strike and maintains separation with good extension. Creates fast penetration with quickness out of his stance while plugging gaps in the run game or collapsing the pocket in passing situations. Good ability to split double teams and fight off contact. Shows he can work laterally down the LOS and chase in the short area. He’s an underrated prospect that should see his recruitment on the rise going into his senior season.

is a refined young weapon for this Bears defense to utilize. The sophomore last season aligned in the defensive tackle position, firing off the ball with excellent get off, attacking guards and tackles in an instant. He was able to bring in 35 tackles, 18 of those as solo tackles, and 2 TFLs in his 2023 campaign. He gets great extension against his opponents, pushing offensive linemen behind the line of scrimmage and playing in the backfield. Additionally, he shows good pursuit on both the play side and backside, having a constant motor to get after the ball and make tackles. Washington heads into his junior year with hopes to produce again at a similar to higher level.
Already possesses ideal size, weight, and frame for a defensive tackle. At 6’0” 275 lbs. he’s got a compact build with great natural strength to overpower opponents at the POA. Flashes plus initial quickness off the ball firing out with good leverage and pad level at the contact point. Has the ability to be a 2 gap defender that can anchor down and neutralize a blocker. Also shows he can stack at the point and effectively fight through double teams. He’s quick to disengage from blockers and locate the ball carrier. He chases hard and shows good range to make plays between the tackles and even some to the perimeter with good angled pursuit. Heavy body tackler that drives through contact and finishes to the ground. D1 ability that will pick up more attention from colleges as the recruiting cycle progresses.
