Expert Analysis
Jordan Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Vehrs threw for nearly 3,000 yards and 27 touchdowns as a first year starter for top program Basha as a junior. Very efficient passer that completed 72% of his throws and takes care of the football only throwing two interceptions on 289 attempts. Committed to North Texas over an offer from NAU.

Vehrs is a flat out playmaker and holds all the potential to lead Basha back to the open division state championship this fall. Dual-threat QB that will sit back in the pocket cool and collected scanning the field to find receivers and throw with anticipation and a smooth release, but can also be a magician to escape sacks and extend plays- either finding receivers downfield or taking off and picking up yards on the ground. His decision making is as best as it gets, as he only threw 2 INT’s all season with 28 TD’s through the air. Decisive passer and explosive ball carrier, Vehrs has proved that he belongs among the top players in AZ and I have no doubts another huge season is coming for him here in ’25.

Brodie Vehrs Brodie Vehrs 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Basha | 2026 State AZ looked locked in the entire day and played a huge part in helping Basha bring home the championship. There’s just a calmness to the way he operates that you don’t always see in a 7s setting, where things can get hectic quick. Every rep, no matter what happened the play before, he came out steady and focused. That kind of poise is huge, especially when you’re leading a team loaded with talent like Basha. He showed that same zip on the ball I’ve seen on film, but it felt even more controlled live. He didn’t just rely on arm strength — he threw with purpose, timing, and a real feel for how to get the ball to his playmakers in stride. And when you’ve got the kind of weapons he has around him, that matters. He didn’t try to do too much, just trusted the system and let his guys work. You could tell the confidence is there, and it’s backed up by preparation. He seemed totally in sync with the offense and made some high-level reads that showed real growth. If what we saw at ASU 7s is any indication, Vehrs is more than ready to lead this Basha group into a huge year.
