T.K. Cunningham is built a little different than the kind of power player you usually picture, but he plays with way more strength and edge than you’d expect when you first look at him. That was one of the first things that jumped out on tape. He’s got a long frame, but he’s not some soft finesse rusher living off athleticism. He comes off the ball with some juice, plays with real aggression, and does a nice job holding his own against bigger linemen. I liked the hand use and I liked the quickness. I also really liked that he wasn’t just trying to fly upfield every snap, hoping to trip into a sack. There’s enough get-off there to stress tackles early, and when bigger guys get too comfortable, he’s got enough suddenness to make them uncomfortable in a hurry. What I really appreciated, though, is that he plays like more than just a pass-rush body. He’ll play the run and he shows some feel for doing his job within the front instead of just freelancing all night. The body still has plenty of room to keep filling out, and that’s a big reason why his upside is so easy to see, because if he keeps adding strength, this could take another jump. But even right now, this isn’t just a traits bet. He’s already a good football player with length, versatility, some real disruption ability, and a style of play that gives you something to work with.
TK Cunningham is a bonafide P4 prospect and leads the team in hurries, according to MaxPreps. He has a prototype frame and is built with good mass and room to get bigger. He might not be a speed rusher, but he wins with his physicality and functional athleticism. He reminds me of Auburn DL Keldric Faulk, and like Faulk, I am expecting Cunningham to play up and down the defensive front at the college level and hunt.
