Tahi has been PRZ’s top ranked DL prospect in the 2027 class and is starting to get the recruiting attention he deserves after offers coming in from Illinois and then Missouri. 6’3” 300 lbs. he has the ideal measurements and physical skillset that major D1 programs look for the interior DL. Has a good mix of speed and power moves to beat blockers. Plus initial quickness off the ball with a fast first step and shows he can redirect in the short area to pursue the ball. Excellent natural strength while playing with leverage to shed blockers and control his gap. Equally effective as a run stopper that is tough to move and as a pass rusher that can collapse the pocket from the inside. High football IQ to diagnose the play and react. Shows he can feel and react to screens. Recruitment is just beginning and will see more P4 programs come through.

Another exciting young piece on this defensive line for Basha will be 2027 Defensive Lineman Anitoni Tahi Anitoni Tahi 6'3" | 300 lbs | DL Basha | 2027 State AZ . The 6’0 300 lbs freshman last year played a good majority of varsity snaps over the center at the nose tackle position for the Basha defense. Managing to bring in 7 total tackles, 3 of those being solo, this is appreciable when you consider he saw a substantial amount of double teams. And reasonable so, as he cannot be moved off the line of scrimmage, neutralizing these double teams with a great base and good pad level at the point of attack. He also exhibits sound instincts, being able to track the ball in the run game or even off an RB screen. Heading into his sophomore season, Tahi is gonna be a problem for offensive lines up front.

Tahi is a force on the interior defensive line at 6’3” 300 lbs. Already possesses ideal size with a well-balanced frame and a strong lower half. Powerful at the POA, he’s able to eat up space and anchor down to neutralize blockers and be an effective two-gap defender. Like his ability to use his strong punch and powerful hands to control blockers and then disengage to free himself up to make a tackle. Plus natural movement skills, shows he can bend and redirect in the short area in pursuit of the ball carrier. He’s a smart football player, that is quick to recognize run/pass and locate the ball. Does a good job feeling and reacting to screen plays. He is the top ranked 2027 DL in the state and checks a lot of boxes for the D1 level.
