He’s massive — 6’6″, 295 — and he looked the part. Hildebrand anchored the run game, consistently giving Gaines and Roberts a lane and keeping both quarterbacks upright. When Basha needed to run behind someone, they ran behind him. What really stood out, though, was how he played through the whistle on every snap, never taking a play off. He showed great awareness, using defenders’ own pass rush moves against them to redirect pressure and open lanes. He doesn’t just try to overpower guys — he understands leverage, positioning, and when to use his hands to either lock a defender up or create just enough space to reset and strike again. There’s a patience to his game that you don’t see often in high school linemen, and he always looks like he’s in command, even when facing more athletic pass rushers. He plays with a calm confidence, like he knows he’s winning the rep before it even starts.
