Expert Analysis
Jordan Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Strong 6’1” 190 lb. WR with a well-built frame and a dynamic skillset. He’s a plus route runner that maintains speed through the route. Accelerates hard off the LOS, drops his hips at the break point, and accelerates out to create separation. High level ball skills, he plays with strong, reliable hands, outstanding body control, and excellent judgement ability when tracking the football. Consistently demonstrates the ability to go up and compete at the high point, winning with extension and aggressiveness through the air. Comfortable making plays in traffic and can work through contact to play the ball in contested situations. Holds three offers from Arizona, Colorado State, and Memphis and is projected to see more with a strong upcoming junior season.

is looking to be the go-to playmaker for this Mountain Pointe passing game. Transferring in from Chandler, Nelson has been lighting it up in spring ball in 7v7 showcases. He presents as a big, reliable target for his quarterback on the outside and over the middle, as he played WR and TE at his time in Chandler. He is an opposing force, high-pointing the ball and bringing it down with strong hands for the catch. He is also a great in-line blocker if you need him to chip or light up an in-box player to get to the outside edge. Nelson will undoubtedly be a key piece in Mountain Pointe’s success, but look out for him to produce more on the outside this season.

is a player who makes you do a double take the second he steps on the field. With his size and build, he looks like he could be lining up as a defensive end — but then you watch him run routes, and the technical polish starts to show. He’s not the fastest or flashiest receiver in terms of pure burst or top-end speed, but he understands how to use his feet to gain leverage and run clean, crisp routes. There’s a physical maturity to his game that stands out. He knows how to position his body, win with angles, and use his length to his advantage. His route running was efficient and thoughtful, and even when he wasn’t separating with speed, he was creating space with impressive footwork and smart pacing. There’s still room for him to grow, especially in terms of explosiveness off the line and short-area quickness. But the foundation is absolutely there.
