Jordan Thomas Jordan Thomas 5'9" | 137 lbs | RB/DB Deptford | 2028 NJ enters his senior year with something still to prove. Already committed to Ohio State and regarded as the top defensive back in New Jersey, Thomas has the complete package—fluid hips, elite athleticism, and the toughness to support in the run game. But this season, he’s looking to make a statement as a true turnover machine. If he adds more takeaways to his résumé, Thomas could not only lead the state in interceptions but also cement his status as the top overall player in New Jersey.

This is one the Buckeyes have had circled for a while. They fell in love with him last year at camp and told him he was the best defensive back in the country. That stuck. And now, the No. 1 player on Prep RedZone’s board is officially headed to the defending national champs.
At 6’2”, 185, Jordan brings elite versatility. He’s dominant at DB but also dangerous at wide receiver. Honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if he gets some looks on offense once he’s in Columbus. His tape on both sides is that good.
Ohio State continues its strong run in Jersey, too. That’s four top-tier guys in two cycles —

earns the Best Zone Corner superlative in the 2026 class. The 6’0”, 180-pound Bergen Catholic standout is arguably the best cover corner in the class, but his instincts in zone coverage set him apart.
His tape shows a player who reads and reacts at a high level. Whether in off-coverage or bail technique, he consistently puts himself in a position to make plays. He’s also one of the best-tackling corners in the class. He fights through blocks, closes on screen passes, and makes one-on-one tackles in space.
Prep Red Zone ranks him as the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 class, and his offers back that up. Michigan, Syracuse, Penn State, and Oregon are just a few of the top programs in pursuit.

It should really come as no surprise that the state’s #1 overall prospect for the class of 2026 has outstanding film.

, a cornerback, does an extremely good job of playing bump and run. His tight, glue-like coverage might only be outdone by the tremendous break on the ball he gets on a consistent basis, often finding himself getting under the receiver’s route to make a play on the ball. A long defender with long arms, he can jam receivers well and not let go of them. Lastly, Thomas has bursts of speed, tackles with correct leverage, and flies up, tackling low when doing so.

Probably the all-around best cornerback on the list. Thomas has been a standout player since he’s been in 8th grade, bursting on the scene at the PSR combine in 2022.While we won’t get to see him play wide receiver full time, unfortunately. He’s made quite the name for himself amongst Power 5 coaches as a CB. Thomas has many redeeming qualities that college coaches love. Still, for this article, his quick downhill trigger, read and react ability, and ability to fight through blocks and attack the football are what landed him on this list. Thomas is unquestionably one the most athletically gifted players in the state of New Jersey regardless of position. His ability to not only be outstanding in coverage but an impact player in run fits is a testament to he holds 20+ P4 offers
