proved why he’s one of Bergen Catholic’s most valuable weapons. He set the tone early with a physical running style, consistently churning out yards after contact and capping off a drive with a touchdown. His impact didn’t stop in the backfield — split out as a wide receiver, Kain showed soft hands and the ability to create plays after the catch. That versatility made him a constant problem for Winslow’s defense. While he often flies under the radar compared to Bergen’s bigger names, Kain’s performance showed he can do it all. If he keeps producing at this level, he has the tools to play the game for a long time beyond high school.

delivered. The senior back ran with toughness and gave the offense a much-needed boost just as things were beginning to click. His physical style was evident, but what stood out even more was his improved burst. Kain looked faster, more explosive, and ready to hit another gear this season.
That combination of power and speed helped him break through ESL’s stout front and shift the energy for Bergen Catholic. Recently committed to Army, Dante showed the exact qualities that make him a perfect fit for their system — discipline, toughness, and the ability to grind out key yards. At Battle at the Beach, he wasn’t just part of the offense — he was the spark that helped get it going.

in our Prep Redzone rankings, Kain embraces his role and does whatever is needed to help the team win. He grinds out tough yards, spells Najee when necessary, and never hesitates to do the dirty work.
At 5’10”, 210 pounds, Kain is a bruising back who thrives in short-yardage situations. He’s a red-zone savant, consistently moving the chains and finishing drives near the goal line. His versatility also stands out—he’s effective as a receiver out of the backfield, adding another dimension to his game.
Some have suggested he’d be a natural fit at fullback, but Kain would be the feature in almost any other backfield. His willingness to embrace his role and contribute to a winning culture makes him one of the most valuable players on Bergen Catholic’s roster.

was a critical factor in Bergen Catholic’s victory over Iona Prep, showing why he’s one-half of their dominant rushing duo. After being sidelined the previous week due to injury, Kain bounced back with an impressive performance, rushing seven times for 67 yards and a touchdown. His goal-line score highlighted his strong contact balance and ability to churn out yards after initial contact, making him a valuable asset in short-yardage and red-zone situations. Kain’s toughness and reliability on the ground further solidify his role as a workhorse back for Bergen Catholic.

, the incumbent running back from Bergen Catholic, boats several skills that made him worthy of top-tier status and separated him to be named the state’s current #1 back in the class of 2026. Without saying, Kain has the speed to turn up the slideline and not get caught. He uses the high step to evade low tacklers and absolutely looks massive on film. As he breaks through the line Kain will lower his pads, effectively minimizing his hitting surface and lowering his shoulders to run would-be tacklers down in the process. Furthermore, Kain serves as a nice safety valve out of the backfield and can cook people in the open field with his patented shake-and-bake ability. He carries out his fakes with a high degree of fidelity that gets him open, often becoming unaccounted for. A selfless player, Kain is a physical and willing lead blocker when called upon. That grit and toughness also appears when he moves the pile forward due to how well he churns his feet. That same churning allows him to break tackles that both arm tackles and high tackles alike, often carrying defenders for several yards. Appearing very hard to take down and pin-balling himself through defenses, what separated Kain in our eyes was that he profiles as a power back, but also possesses a high degree of agility.

His ability to grind out tough yards makes him reliable in crucial moments. Bergen Catholic’s tendency to win by large margins will provide Kain with numerous scoring opportunities. Dante is poised for a significant role as Bergen Catholic’s goal line back. He will likely steal touchdowns from Calhoun. Watching him play reveals a full skill set. He can make an impact as a runner and a pass catcher. Moreover, his goal-line touches add another layer to his game. Therefore, Dante Cain has a strong opportunity to win one of New Jersey’s Offensive Player of the Year awards. I’m expecting a huge season from him. This should put him on the radar of many Power 4 teams. He has the chance to establish himself as one of the top running backs in New Jersey.

was able to play multiple roles for his team in 2022. Playing as a bruising back for Bergen Catholic, Dante defined his season by running over defenders as he sprints down field. He had quite a size advantage over his opponents, and he used it to its fullest. However, even though he has a larger frame, he moved extremely smoothly when in open field with the ball in his hands.
On defense, Dante played safety and rolled up at the line as well. He was a menace when he blitzed, and could cover his zone and break up the pass well. Dante’s future is surely bright, and it will be interesting to see where he lines up in the future. Dante could easily play safety, linebacker, RB, FB, TE, or H back in the upcoming seasons.
