has been absolutely dominate on both sides of the ball throughout his high school career. The number one defensive back and number two recruit in the state, Kaj is an elite safety with Ed Reed-like attributes with how he roams the field. Throughout his time at Bergen Catholic Kaj would fly up the field to secure the tackle and would blow up the play before it could get started. This is a name we will hear quite frequently on Saturdays this fall.

Akin to Chavis, Sanders stayed with his initial commitment from way-back-when. Sanders is headed to the Banks of the Old Raritan as he signed on the dotted line to play for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Below is perhaps one of the more interesting announcement videos.

Kaj Sanders showcased his consistent excellence for Bergen Catholic, contributing significantly to their success against Delbarton. Instrumental in establishing a 14-0 lead, Sanders displayed his ability to find running lanes, accelerate with burst, and utilize his track speed in the open field. Crucially, he played a key role in securing the win, helping Bergen Catholic maintain control and sealing victory with a notable 21 attempts for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Concluding his high school career as a three-time state champion, Kaj is set to continue his football journey at Rutgers next fall.

In a Tuesday night of low-scoring and minimal offensive output, Sanders found a way to break out and bust loose. The Rutgers commit heads to Piscataway as a three-time champion. Bergen Catholics’ star rusher did what he does best, run the rock. A constant threat who kept the pressure on, Sanders rushed 21 times for 110 yards and found the end zone twice in the title game. He also made one stop on defense.

Heading into the weekend Sander’s was a running back prospect I expected greatly impact the outcome of the game. Although he did not lead the state in rushing, he was amongst the state leader’s in yards per carry with 13.4. In all, Sanders’ helped propel Bergen Catholic to a 42-12 victory over Donovan Catholic as he rushed for 188 yards and 3 scores on 14 carries. He also made 2 tackles.

Anytime a top-10 player in the state goes off the board, it is a big deal. Where did Prep Redzone’s 10th overall and 3rd defensive back prospect decide to attend school?

originally was rumored that he would heading to Madison to play for the Wisconsin Badgers; however, Sanders will be staying home and playing on the banks of the ole’ Raritan, suiting up for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. This is a huge get for Rutgers, as they land their first top-10 player in the state of New Jersey from the class of 2024.

is my top safety coming out of New Jersey in 2024. Playing along a loaded roster at Bergen Catholic, this team has dominated the past two seasons, winning state championships in both. Kaj is a straight up ball hawk. He plays the position like a centerfielder, have the bandwidth to go sideline to sideline every play. And good luck breaking a tackle from Kaj in open space, there’s a good chance it isn’t happening. With his big body for the position, he will have a seamless transition into the next level.
