Karter was a close second for MVP of the event, further proving he’s another talented and promising prospect in the making. Fast off the line with quick footwork, he demonstrated impressive change-of-direction abilities that kept defenders on their heels. His leaping ability is a standout feature, as he can high-point the ball and snatch it out of the air with ease. Karter burned some of the best DBs at the combine, making several acrobatic catches that showcased his ability to track and finish in tough situations. With his skill set and athleticism, he’s definitely a name to keep an eye on moving forward.

Baker is one of the top wide receiver prospects in New Jersey’s 2029 class, earning Top Performer honors at the previous Next Combine in New Jersey. Despite being a bigger wideout, he’s incredibly shifty with quick cuts and fast footwork, allowing him to create separation both at the line and downfield. As a big target, he can outcompete nearly every defender and is expected to make some incredible catches Saturday morning. Baker is heading to Bergen Catholic, where he’ll continue to thrive and catch the attention of collegiate scouts with his impressive skills.

lived up to the hype by putting on a performance on Saturday. I was very surprised by how nimble of a mover Karter was for his size and how quickly he can change directions. As a taller receiver, you wouldn’t expect him to get in and out of turns as quickly as he did, but he showed in the cone drills that he has electric cutting abilities. Just as impressive, when it came to downfield routes, Karter burned a few DBs with a quick stutter at the line and a faster acceleration down the field.
Karter is truly one of the top prospects in NJ’s 2029 class and all eyes should be on him as he makes his way to the field on Friday nights. I expect big things from him in the future.

As of October 2024, when looking at the Wide Receivers in the state for the class of 2029, Baker has to be in the conversation when talking about the top kids. He lists himself at 6-foot and 155-pounds and certainly looks close to that size. He comes with the long, lean prototypical WR build. The ceiling for him, in my opinion, is very high.
