About Gavin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is high paced and physical. I always jog back to the huddle and to the line of scrimmage.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My Mentality is to always focus on the next play. I always try my hardest every play even if my team is losing by a lot. I always give 110% effort.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Junior Honor Society High Honor Roll 2022-2025 8th Grade Scholastic Team

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I developed as a leader being captain of my football and wrestling team. I am a member of National Junior Honor Society at my school. Being in that gets me community service hours in my town.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I have faced challenges. My 2022 season I partially tore my acl in a scrimmage. I came back in week 7 of that season. My 2023 season I dislocated my elbow in another scrimmage. Came back for playoffs and played down in florida that same season.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that we develop me not just as a player but as a person as well.

Fans of Bergen Catholic athletics, and general New Jersey HS football fans should remember the name Josh McKenzie. McKenzie, who resided down the shore in Wall, graduated from BC in 2019 and was a four-year starter in both football and wrestling; Earning All-State honors in both sports before heading to Yale to play football. Enter Gavin Anderson Gavin Anderson Gavin Anderson 6'0" | 185 lbs | RB/LB Bergen Catholic | 2030 NJ . Anderson also resides in Wall and like McKenzie, is also a stellar football player and wrestler. During his youth career he was selected to the Jersey Shore AYF Conference All-Stars, and this past season he was a big reason for St. James reaching the Pop Warner Super Bowl. He enters high school significantly bigger than McKenzie did and could ultimately end up shining brightest as a Linebacker or in the Secondary, in addition to contributions as a Running Back.
