in our database. Depicted during his youth ball days, all those reps and practices have paid off for the linebacker who looks to break into the top 75 in his class. I thought that as a linebacker, Mauro played the tailback extremely well. The one rep of his that I caught the running back was trying to run a wheel; however, Mauro stymied him with his physical play and never allowed his opponent to turn upfield, stunting him in the flat and killing the play.

is a young prospect to watch at Bergen Catholic. At 5’11”, 175 pounds, he’s already showing promise at both linebacker and wide receiver. But right now, his defensive play stands out the most.
Mauro isn’t afraid to get physical. He’s a disciplined tackler who fights through blocks to make plays in the backfield. He reads plays well and plays with aggression, traits that will serve him well as he continues to develop. Offensively, he’s shown flashes as a receiver, especially after the catch. More opportunities on that side of the ball could unlock another level of his game.
Still early in his high school career, Mauro has the potential to emerge as a key contributor. With his versatility and physicality, he’s a player worth watching.
