‘s calling card is his route running. While he can win in multiple ways, this is the trait that clearly separates him from the rest of the 2027 class.
Primarily working out of the slot, Busso thrives in today’s modern passing game. He consistently wins at the line of scrimmage, avoids jams, and uses his upper body to create subtle deception. From there, he gets skinny through routes, snaps them off cleanly, and creates immediate separation—both vertically and underneath.
Just as important, his route savvy shows up against zone coverage. Busso understands spacing, finds soft spots, settles when needed, and then turns catches into extra yardage after the catch. He plays with advanced awareness and tempo well beyond his age.
Moreover, his production has translated against elite competition. He’s delivered big performances not only in New Jersey but also against out-of-state powers, including teams from Florida and the Midwest. That consistency has fueled his recruiting surge.
Over the last week alone, Busso added offers from Delaware, Wofford, UConn, and Wake Forest, further validating what the film shows. As his momentum continues to build,

has come out of the gates on fire this offseason. He put together a massive showing at the Miami 7v7 Showcase, where he consistently made difficult, highlight-level catches against top competition. As a result, his recruitment has taken off in a hurry. Over the last five days alone, Busso picked up four Division I offers from Minnesota, UConn, USF, and Wake Forest.
More importantly, those offers didn’t come by accident. Coaches went back to the tape—and once they did, they liked what they saw. Busso consistently creates separation, shows advanced route nuance, and wins at all three levels of the field. Simply put, he separates as well as any wide receiver in New Jersey.
Because of that, this surge feels more like the beginning than the peak. With camp season heating up and more eyes turning his way,

‘s go-to target. He led the Crusaders with six receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown, showing his ability to consistently win one-on-one matchups. Busso separated with precision route running and created yards after the catch, making him nearly impossible to contain. His performance against Winslow reaffirmed his reputation as one of the most well-rounded receivers in New Jersey. Busso continues to be the steady engine of Bergen Catholic’s passing attack.

Busso’s performance highlighted his versatility. He consistently got open quickly as a quarterback-friendly target, but also stretched the field with big-play ability. His yards-after-catch production stood out, as did his sharp route running from multiple alignments.
In a game that demanded precision, Busso proved why he’s among the most polished wide receivers in New Jersey. His monster showing in Florida only raised his stock as a reliable, explosive weapon.

is one of Bergen Catholic’s best-kept secrets—at least for now. At 6’0”, 185 pounds, Busso brings a dependable, versatile presence to the offense, thriving especially out of the slot. He creates separation quickly, has reliable hands, and understands how to find soft spots in coverage—traits that make him an ideal security blanket for a young quarterback.
With Quincy Porter off to Ohio State, the target share just opened up in a major way. Expect Busso to be a featured weapon in the passing game, especially on quick routes and intermediate concepts. If the volume follows, he’s a real contender to finish as one of New Jersey’s leaders in catches for the 2025-26 season.

is stepping into the spotlight. The 6-foot, 180-pound junior wide receiver has been known in the 2027 class for a while, but this season presents his most enormous opportunity yet. With five-star

off to Ohio State, Busso will be Bergen Catholic’s top receiving threat in a passing attack still figuring out its quarterback situation.
Busso has the skill set to thrive. He’s a crisp route-runner, understands leverage, and separates quickly. Against smaller corners, he uses his sturdy frame to win contested catches and excels at the catch point. Even before his first varsity season, he landed offers from Bowling Green, West Virginia, and Central Michigan. Now, with a chance to be the guy, expect that list to grow.
The media has been high on Busso for a while, and for good reason. He has a polished game and a variety of ways to win. This season will be his proving ground, and all signs indicate he is making the most of it.

and Naeem Parish, Bergen faces a significant void at playmaker. While standout Brian Porter, Quincy’s younger brother, remains a key piece of the offense, Busso must help Bergen maintain its decade-long dominance.
Although Busso was used sparingly last season, his potential is evident. Thanks to his reliable hands and crisp route running, he earned an early offer from West Virginia. His suddenness and ability to create separation, especially from the slot, have caught the attention of college scouts.
This year, the spotlight is on Busso. He has opportunities to solidify his place among Bergen Catholic’s storied lineage of wide receivers. With his skill set, Busso is ready to become a household name.

Busso, a prospect from Staten Island who dominated a PrepRedzone Next camp I was at a couple years back, picked up an offer from West Virginia, which is his first P4 offer. The Bergen Catholic WR prospect was also named MVP at Michigan camp and looks to be a part of a really strong Bergen Catholic offense this season. He did not register a stat against IMG Academy, but Bergen Catholic’s offense looks to have a lot more success as the season goes on.

is stepping onto the varsity stage for the first time, but don’t let his lack of experience fool you. At 5’11” and 170 pounds, this class of 2027 wide receiver is more than ready to make an impact. The big question is how many snaps he’ll see in this high-stakes matchup against IMG Academy. But one thing is sure—Busso’s skill set is ideally suited for a breakout performance.
Busso plays in the slot and has the tools to exploit a fundamental weakness in IMG’s defense. Last week, they were exposed in the middle of the field, giving up significant yardage to Corner Canyon. Busso’s quickness and ability to win in the slot could be precisely what Bergen Catholic needs to capitalize on this vulnerability. If Bergen Catholic is going to find success against IMG, Busso might be the catalyst they need to make big plays down the stretch.

Austin Busso competed at the PSR combine this past weekend and was able to show the full array of his skillset. In the one one-on-one portion of camp had solid reps from the slot and the outside. From the slot, he was able to show his short area quickness, and agility to gain separation. In addition showed wins from the outside showing the ability to have a solid release package and to beat and navigate through press coverage, also adding in some spectacular catches.Busso is almost destined to be a key contributor for Bergen Catholic as wide receiver, mainly making an impact from the slot. He will be a top breakout candidate going into the 2024 season. Austin currently has one offer from Bowling Green.
