With the rebuild Rutgers has gone through over the past few seasons, Greg Schiano has the Scarlet Knights eyeing higher aspirations. With their first bowl win this past season in nearly a decade, the 2024 class is ready to help propel Rutgers to the next stage in its maturation.
One of the top athletes in the state, Gabe Winowich dominated on the ground for Notre Dame in 2023. Listed as a RB for Rutgers, Gabe made a name for himself as a long strided runner that can take off with it once he gets past the first line of defense. Rushing for 1161 yards and 15 touchdowns in his senior year, Gabe was not only a strong runner that could break through tackles with ease but was also extremely quick in his cutting abilities. Gabe was able to shake loose from defenders and find his way out of the pile and into the end zone. Rutgers is getting themselves a top tier running back with this incoming freshman.

AJ has the ability to read coverages quickly and can dissect the defenses with precision. AJ’s 26 touchdowns and 2 interceptions speak for themselves with how accurate and smart he was with the ball. A true athlete coming out of Bergen Catholic, Kaj Sanders Kaj Sanders 6’2″ | 180 lbs | DB Bergen Catholic | 2024 State NJ has been absolutely dominate on both sides of the ball throughout his high school career. The number one defensive back and number two recruit in the state, Kaj is an elite safety with Ed Reed-like attributes with how he roams the field. Throughout his time at Bergen Catholic Kaj would fly up the field to secure the tackle and would blow up the play before it could get started. This is a name we will hear quite frequently on Saturdays this fall.
A top 50 player in the state and one of the most talent offensive linemen available, Kenny Jones Kenny Jones 6’5″ | 300 lbs | OL Delran | 2024 State NJ held his ground for Delran as a force from the tackle position. A strong presence on the line, Kenny has a wide base that gives him stability and prevented rushers from getting around or through him. He not only flashed as a pass blocker, but played a key role in his offense’s success in the run game. Kenny was able to extend his arms and drive defenders back as he cleared the way for his runner to follow. With great size for the tackle position, I am excited to see how Kenny progresses at the next level.
