Each week I will pick and break down seven of the top games in Southern California.

I had a solid week in week one going 5-2.

Here is a look at some of the best games this week:

BASHA VS. ORANGE LUTHERAN

Orange Lutheran had a nice win last week over Cathedral Catholic after a heartbreaking loss in week zero. [player_tooltip player_id='1506318' first='Ezrah' last='Brown'] had a breakout game completing 18 of 19 passes for 253 yards with two touchdowns for the Lancers. [player_tooltip player_id='1197219' first='Chris' last='Flores'] had 108 yards receiving with a touchdown and [player_tooltip player_id='1588182' first='Ryan' last='Christianson'] ran for 95 yards with two scores. [player_tooltip player_id='1717694' first='Chauncey' last='Washington'] led the Lancers in tackles and [player_tooltip player_id='1197624' first='Matthew' last='Zapien'] added an interception while [player_tooltip player_id='1146376' first='King' last='Rich Johnson'] had a game-clinching pick-six.

Basha had a nice win over Chandler last week. [player_tooltip player_id='930188' first='Jake' last='Rogers'] threw for 214 yards with three touchdowns and [player_tooltip player_id='1326130' first='Makai' last='Nelson'] had 90 yards receiving with two touchdowns. [player_tooltip player_id='883266' first='Noah' last='Roberts'] ran for 111 yards with a touchdown. Basha is going to want to throw against Orange Lutheran and Orange Lutheran's secondary is its strength. I think Basha's defense is good enough to make it tough for the Lancers to replicate last week's performance.

The pick: Basha

https://twitter.com/king21_rich/status/2094115632153579572?s=20

RANCHO BERNARDO VS. TORREY PINES

Rancho Bernardo had a nice win over St. Augustine in week zero and dominated Brawley in week one. [player_tooltip player_id='1621180' first='Gaige' last='Weddle'] is the headliner for Rancho Bernardo and is the top class of 2028 player in the state according to Prep Redzone. [player_tooltip player_id='2158812' first='Aiden' last='Farrell'] has run the ball well and Trevor Damiano has three receiving touchdown. Drew Coats leads the team in tackles and [player_tooltip player_id='2371067' first='Rio' last='Bersamira'] is the top pass rusher. Torrey Pines has two blowout wins and looks improved from last season. Blake Miller is a quality quarterback for Torrey Pines and [player_tooltip player_id='2236071' first='Logan' last='Miller'] is a top receiver. If Torrey Pines wins this game, it will go 5-0 before starting league play.

The pick: Rancho Bernardo

https://twitter.com/GaigeLWeddle/status/2092832258013167837?s=20

SAN CLEMENTE VS. CHAPARRAL

Chaparral had a good bounce back win over San Juan Hills last week and got a nice game out of sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='2069847' first='Caden' last='Sterba'] who threw three touchdown passes. [player_tooltip player_id='2054342' first='Kingston' last='Hunter'], a transfer from Orange, ran for 129 yards. Michael "Kiko" Farinas had 106 yards receiving with two touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass. Miami commit [player_tooltip player_id='1611263' first='Eli' last='Woodard'] had 149 yards receiving with two scores. San Clemente's defense is for real with [player_tooltip player_id='661909' first='Jaxson' last='Rex'] and Cade Hogan leading the secondary. Gunnor Bachhuber is having a good season in the front seven along with [player_tooltip player_id='2110483' first='Jack' last='Weller']. San Clemente's offense has stalled a bit after losing its starting running back, but [player_tooltip player_id='1858610' first='Ryan' last='Matheson'] can be a big play receiver. Chaparral has the best receiving corps San Clemente will play this season and this game went down to the wire last year.

The pick: San Clemente

https://twitter.com/Tritonfootball/status/2091169809136558140?s=20

MISSION HILLS VS. OCEANSIDE

Oceanside is coming off a blowout loss to Carlsbad last week but Carlsbad may be the top team in San Diego. [player_tooltip player_id='1203247' first='Anthony' last='Barquinero'] threw the ball well in the opening game against Granite Hills and [player_tooltip player_id='1635562' first='Neke' last='Letuli'] ran for 153 yards with three touchdowns in that game. Mission Hills has two dominant wins but this is the first test of the season for the Grizzlies. Minnesota commit [player_tooltip player_id='1197560' first='Furian' last='Inferrera'] has completed 67 percent of his passes for 243 yards with four touchdowns. [player_tooltip player_id='1717679' first='Brayden' last='Roberson'] is one of the best two-way players in San Diego with 153 yards and three receiving touchdowns.

The pick: Mission Hills

https://twitter.com/FurianInferrera/status/2094208224669131132?s=20

ST. JOHN BOSCO VS. PITTSBURG

St. John Bosco got a nice comfortable win over Roman Catholic last week after losing to Bishop Gorman in the season-opener. [player_tooltip player_id='1396184' first='Maliq' last='Allen'] ran for 139 yards with four total touchdowns for the Braves in that win and [player_tooltip player_id='2065926' first='Kuika' last='Moaalii'] had a nice touchdown catch. [player_tooltip player_id='800123' first='Isala' last='Wily-Ava'] had a huge game when Bosco beat Pittsburg two years ago and so did [player_tooltip player_id='1382563' first='Dillon' last='Davis']. [player_tooltip player_id='1197597' first='Josiah' last='Poyer'] does a nice job getting into the backfield as a linebacker and [player_tooltip player_id='1197363' first='Richard' last='Orosco'] had a nice game as a pass rusher last week. [player_tooltip player_id='1621245' first='Javale' last='Jones'] threw three touchdown passes for Pittsburg against Monterey Trail in its season-opener last week and the team ran for 233 yards. [player_tooltip player_id='1622631' first='Maurice' last='Harts'] had an interception for Pittsburg. I think Bosco's defensive speed is too much for Pittsburg in this one.

The pick: St. John Bosco

https://twitter.com/MitchBookLive/status/2095633487898476673?s=20

JSERRA VS. CREAN LUTHERAN

JSerra got an easy win over Long Beach Wilson last week after playing a tough Sierra Canyon team in week zero. [player_tooltip player_id='1284700' first='Hayes' last='Cloutier'] had three touchdown passes in the first half and [player_tooltip player_id='1611401' first='Will' last='Fredericksen'] had a long touchdown run to open the game. [player_tooltip player_id='2106839' first='Godschoice' last='Eboigbodin'] had a good game getting into the backfield and is a physical mismatch against most offensive linemen. Crean Lutheran quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1197336' first='Caden' last='Jones'] has been outstanding again through two games this season with five touchdowns and zero interceptions. Lincoln transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1382581' first='Braylen' last='Ross'] has 221 yards receiving with two touchdowns. [player_tooltip player_id='2174643' first='Mateo' last='Munoz'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2345284' first='Eti' last='Taula'] have been getting into the backfield for the Saints and [player_tooltip player_id='1199093' first='Ahmeer' last='Williamson'] had a good game stopping the run last week. [player_tooltip player_id='1611238' first='Evan' last='Mack'] has been leading the secondary and [player_tooltip player_id='1293191' first='Troy' last='Roberts'] is primarily playing safety after being a star receiver at Yorba Linda. JSerra may be the highest-caliber opponent Crean Lutheran has played in its school-history.

The pick: Crean Lutheran

https://twitter.com/CadenJonesss1/status/2094979696962478539?s=20

MISSION VIEJO VS. FOLSOM

Mission Viejo trounced Folsom last season but the Bulldogs elected to travel seven hours by bus on the day of the game which may have effected their energy levels. [player_tooltip player_id='1291532' first='Brett' last='Burnor'] has been outstanding for Mission Viejo in his first two starts at quarterback with 444 yards and eight touchdowns with zero turnovers. [player_tooltip player_id='1197564' first='Jack' last='Junker'] is one of the best deep threat receivers in the area and Duke commit [player_tooltip player_id='1382575' first='Luke' last='Karby'] is off to a hot start at tight end. [player_tooltip player_id='1522528' first='Dylan' last='Felli'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2106836' first='Amaziah' last='Siale'] lead a good offensive line for the Diablos. Cal commit [player_tooltip player_id='310450' first='Brody' last='Rudnicki'] had a touchdown pass and a touchdown run in Folsom's overtime win over Cardinal Newman last week. Folsom's offensive line, led by [player_tooltip player_id='1698960' first='Malachi' last='Coleman'], will need to keep Rudnicki upright because Mission Viejo had 10 sacks against Folsom last season. Bick Wegner had 18 tackles last week and [player_tooltip player_id='1638984' first='EJ' last='Coleman'] is a shifty middle linebacker with great speed who can disrupt the run game. This is the toughest test of the season for Mission Viejo but the Diablos are confident coming in against a team it dominated a year ago.

The pick: Mission Viejo

https://twitter.com/lukekarbywr/status/2091334815614480743?s=20

HUNTLEY'S RECORD: 9-5

Each week I will pick and break down seven of the top games in Southern California.
