Expert Analysis
Michael Huntley | Prep Redzone Scout
Barquinero completed 59 percent of his passes for 2048 yards with 21 touchdowns and just six interceptions for Oceanside last season and ran for four touchdowns.
He’s a pro style guy who throws really well when his feet are set which is commonplace in camps like these. Barquinero can throw off-platform too and throws well down the field.

He’s a traditional pro-style quarterback who makes good reads with the ball and can throw off-platform. Barquinero has good pocket awareness and does a good job keeping his eyes on the secondary while under pressure and delivering good throws while getting hit. He had a strong showing at the You Are Athlete camp early in the offseason.

The Oceanside product is a live passer with a strong arm, good zip on the ball and can throw on time with a quick release and really solid throwing mechanics heading into his junior year for the Pirates. He steps into his throws across the middle and is not afraid to fit it into tight windows while showing he can make off-platform throws as well across his body with deep ball accuracy and velocity over the top. He threw for 2,700+ yards this year with 25+ touchdowns and should be one of the sections leading passers in 2026 for what should be a loaded oceanside squad on both sides of the ball with plenty of next level talent across the board.
