About Lakeem
Expert Analysis
Avery Hawkins | Prep Redzone Scout
Steele is a solid, versatile lineman who consistently clears running lanes. He plays with good bend and possesses a strong punch. Despite his 300-pound stature, he demonstrates notable athleticism and can effectively execute blocks on the second level. Steele plays with a nasty demeanor, driving his feet on contact and often pancaking D-linemen to the turf. As a pass protector, he proves to be solid, skilled at anchoring down against the bull rush. Lakeem is also a proficient puller, causing significant collisions on his blocking assignments. Currently, Steele holds D1 offers from Bethune-Cookman, Long Island University, and Merrimack.

stayed patient, kept his head down, and worked. His hard work bore fruit. The senior offensive lineman had a hell of a month and a half, securing Division One offers out of Long Island University, Merrimack, and Bethune-Cookman. I imagine Steele will continue to press the issue, working hard until his goals are met. That being said, you can bet his offer list will grow too.

For as large of a human being he is, Steele moved extremely well for his size. The St. Joe’s Philly product certainly passed the eye test, but he continued to further open eyes based on the agility he demonstrated. During one-on-ones Steele moved laterally very well, staying in front of defenders and taking power steps to regain ground when they went toward the inside. His big, burly chest stonewalled power rush moves from ever gaining any traction as well.

, who is unoffered to my knowledge, is the pivotal cog in the SJP running attack. Steele can play either guard position, which means he needs to be on top of his assignments beyond the responsibilities of a normal offensive linemen starter. Steele isn’t going to overwhelm with size, he knows that. He’s going to win by being in the right place at the right time. SJP has this kid on the move, his hat placement and timing are crucial in each rep. Disciplined and strong,

Another unoffered prospect who, much like Shamir Johnson Shamir Johnson 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB St. Joseph's Prep | 2024 State PA , received an FBS-ceiling grade from me. Tape is littered with powerful, punishing pulls that show off his quick feet for a 300-pound lineman. You see Steele flash active feet while keeping a powerful base. I want to see consistency in his senior tape. SJP has its tackle spots, center spot, and guard spot locked up with Steele in the interior.
