Brandon Lockley is a tackling machine. On his highlight tape you can see the feel Lockley has for the game. He has high level movement ability and high level play recognition that pair well together for an unstoppable force on the field. A common theme between a lot of the guys on this list is they are flexible in there position, Lockley plays a little of everything, SS, slot, and OLB. Lockley has the size and ability to be a true Mike LB at the next level but there’s other clear paths for him. Either way this is a kid you want on your defense, and he has the mentality and athletic ability to be an absolute stud in 2 years.

Brandon Lockley Jr is another name out of St. Joes Prep that you need to get used to hearing. The 2027 LB is ranked as the #1 LB in his class. In the grand scheme of things he is ranked as the #4 player in the state. Lockley is still only a Sophomore, but has already picked up a couple of offers. Let’s check them out!
Offers: Duke, Boston College, Penn State
I’m excited to watch Lockley compete this year! I truly believe he will be a nationally known player in the next couple years.

Saint Joseph’s Prep held its college showcase yesterday, I imagine the program hosted many programs stationed across the Northeast. Duke was present, offering a 2027 Hawk who I feel has every chance in the world to be the top-ranked prospect in his class, this being Prep’s Brandon Lockley Jr. The ACC offer stands are Lockley’s first scholarship opportunity, you can bet it won’t be his last. Look for the likes of Syracuse and Boston College to inquire immediately, the programs might’ve been present at SJP’s showcase Thursday afternoon. I had the opportunity to see Lockley’s build progression and running skills up close a couple of weekends ago at our 7v7, his climb up the 2027 ladder will be inevitable.

Brandon Lockley Jr who is a really big LB prospect already in terms of recruitment and his size had what I thought was one of the most consistent performances of any LB prospect this past weekend. Lockley Jr moves extremely well and he showcased a good change of direction in coverage consistently. Lockley Jr was consistently lined up all over the field and able to impact plays at the catch point. What separates Lockley not only from other 2027s but all the other LBs in this tournament is his play speed. Lockley Jr plays the game faster than nearly every LB I have seen at 7v7 tournaments and it is a testament to his instincts and his ability to read, react, and execute from the position.

Spoke about this in the Wingmen preview, everything Lockley Jr. does in pads dwarfs any performance in a 7v7 setting, regardless of how well he played on defense. That being said, I still came away pleased with his play at 215+ pounds. A mix of safety and backer reps, Brandn Lockley proved he could keep up with much smaller wideouts and running backs that he matched up with. Well trained at safety, I was able to witness Lockley recognize route concepts in real-time, breaking and making things difficult for wideouts on his half of the field. Saw him cover wheels from the backfield, saw Lockley stay with targets running to the flat. I learned Lockley’s labbing and growth behind the scenes have not hindered his athletic ability, especially his movement skills. Once he irons out any mental reads that cause him to hesitate, he’ll be a force at LB or Safety this coming Fall.

Watching freshman Brandon Lockley Jr. in pads will infinitely outweigh anything we see him do in a 7v7 setting. I project Lockley to blossom into one of the more coveted prospects in all of Pennsylvania, in due time at least. None of that comes without off-season development, you can make the case that there will be development to be had at this event this weekend, especially if Lockley is stationed at safety. Lockley is likely to transition to LB (my opinion) sooner rather than later, but seeing how he keeps up from a range perspective should tell me things about how he’s maturing athletically. Will be a pleasure to see this young man work either way. The type of prospect local media should be out to see.

Every football program in America is looking for a long athlete who can tackle and make plays all over the field,

is one of those types of athletes. He played safety last year and flashed an ability to come downhill and tackle very well. Lockley is the type of player who can play either outside linebacker or as a safety. He does a good job of triggering and coming upfield and making tackles in or near the line of scrimmage. Lockley is a talented player.

While the camp had a ton of standouts, if there was an overall MVP of the Pennsylvania PRZ Next Rising Prospect Camp, it would have been Lockley. From the second he walked into the dome, he just looked physically different than the other kids. Measured in at 6-foot and 195 pounds of solid muscle. Came to the camp to play wide receiver and defensive back, winning the defensive back MVP. With his build, I wouldn’t rule out a change to Linebacker when he gets to St. Joe’s Prep in Philadelphia this upcoming call. Has a thick, powerful lower half that saw him run a 4.72 in the forty. In the best vs. best rep at the end of the camp he went one-on-one with Tight End
