Work Ethic & Body Development

Camp performances are great, JV performances are worth something, don’t get me wrong. I’d argue, however, that an emphasis on behind-the-scenes body development, along with an almost tangible work ethic, is more important to have at this stage of Cayden Ohler Cayden Ohler 6'1" | 260 lbs | OL St. Joseph's Prep | 2027 State PA ‘s career. Ohler is at St. Joseph’s Prep, he’s got a ways to go before sniffing real starting time on Varsity Hawk ball. There’s only one thing to do if this is the case, sit back, keep your head down and train your tail off behind the scenes and be ready for any future opportunities. From what I can tell, that’s exactly what Ohler is doing. The young man is likely to impress once he’s ready to be counted on. Stay in the books, stay in the weightroom and we will likely have a perennial top 100 prospect moving forward.

Ohler was really solid all camp long, and was arguably to be the best overall athlete amongst the defensive lineman. At times was a little sloppy with his footwork and can clean up some other fundamentals, but he has four years of high school ball to sharpen those tools. Speaking of high school, Ohler is headed to perennial Pennsylvania powerhouse program, St. Joe’s Prep, in Philadelphia. He measured in at 5-foot-11 and 215-pounds, and stood out during the 1v1s where his motor and relentless pass rush, was tough for the offensive line to stop. Ohler has the instincts and violent hands to really be a big time problem in HS. Also, has really impressive strength and consistently drive offensive linemen back. His rugby background was very evident in his on-field play.
