St. Joseph’s Prep comes into the state championship with a 12-1 record, suffering their only defeat to national powerhouse IMG Academy. SJP is the defending state champions and went 5-0 in conference play this season. The Tigers come into the state championship at 13-1, suffering their only defeat to the storied Pittsburgh Central Catholic Vikings earlier this season. Similar to St. Joseph’s, North Allegheny possesses a bunch of Division I talent. This matchup has all the makings of a classic state championship game, and I can’t wait to check it out!
Jones leads the SJP offense as the signal-caller, and the outcome of this game hinges on North Allegheny effectively pressuring Samaj for a victory. However, the task is easier said than done. Jones showcases elite footwork, pocket presence, exceptional ball placement, and precise timing on his throws. With a roster full of D1 athletes as targets, he adeptly spreads the ball around. His QB mechanics and quick release are both at the FBS level. This senior QB has already committed to the Cincinnati Bearcats. It’s evident that stopping Samaj is crucial for North Allegheny to secure a win in this contest.

Agard stands out as the best CB I’ve watched on tape this year, excelling in various aspects. His footwork, pad level, breaking, and playmaking ability are all top-notch. Whether employing off technique or press-man, he proves to be a lockdown defender. Omillio is also a physical and reliable open-field tackler, showcasing his big-time playmaking ability through interception returns for touchdowns. It’ll be intriguing to witness this blue-chip recruit matched up in man coverage against North Allegheny. Wisconsin is gaining a shutdown defender who will undoubtedly be a factor in the 6A State Championship. Omillio consistently neutralizes the opposing team’s top target in coverage.
Sacca is another next-level recruit that NA will have their hands full with. He possesses D1-level man coverage ability and instincts. His 6’4 frame is ideal for blitzing and contesting passes in coverage. With instincts and a natural motor, he consistently positions himself around the football. A versatile and physical player, he logs reps at LB, OLB, and safety, as seen on tape. Sacca triggers fast in run support and plays off blockers like a blue-chip prospect.

Roy boasts elite size and strength on the D-line for SJP, standing at 6’5″ and weighing 270 lbs. He’s a versatile and athletic interior D-lineman, functioning as a skilled enforcer. Roy exhibits a rapid off-the-ball movement and plays shorter than his 6’5 frame. This junior DL consistently disrupts the opposing team’s backfield. His extension and lockout skills highlight his strength and technique. Roy’s motor operates at the D1 level, evident in his ability to chase down RBs from behind on film. He excels at playing off cut blockers in run pursuit. The 2025 enforcer has received FBS scholarships from various successful power 5 programs, including Ohio State, USC, and Wisconsin.
Steele is a solid, versatile lineman who consistently clears running lanes. He plays with good bend and possesses a strong punch. Despite his 300-pound stature, he demonstrates notable athleticism and can effectively execute blocks on the second level. Steele plays with a nasty demeanor, driving his feet on contact and often pancaking D-linemen to the turf. As a pass protector, he proves to be solid, skilled at anchoring down against the bull rush. Lakeem is also a proficient puller, causing significant collisions on his blocking assignments. Currently, Steele holds D1 offers from Bethune-Cookman, Long Island University, and Merrimack.
West is a homerun-hitting RB with the ability to break out at any time. Standing at 6 feet and weighing 207 pounds, he has the build to break tackles. Additionally, he possesses next-level speed, capable of outrunning the defense when he hits the sideline. Isaiah is also skilled at running between the tackles, demonstrating good balance and vision. North Allegheny will need to shut West down to secure the state championship victory. West, another St. Joseph’s Prep prospect, holds various power five offers, including Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Penn State, West Virginia, and Nebraska. He is also a dangerous receiver out of the backfield.
Turner is another burner on the outside for St. Joseph’s Prep. His speed tracking the football when it’s in the air is definitely elite. Alijah has strong pass-catching hands and the ability to take short passes and turn them into long gains. He runs good routes and wins the majority of 50/50 passes targeted to him. He’s very dangerous when he’s operating in the middle of the field, catching passes in the slot. Turner is a versatile receiver that can affect the game from the X, Z, or Y WR positions. Alijah currently has a Power 5 scholarship from Boston College.
Kevin is another FBS recruit with the frame to match, standing at 6’4″ and weighing 305 pounds. Towns is very agile for his size and showcases the ability to get blocks on the second level. He possesses a good kick-slide, a strong punch, and a physically imposing disposition that often results in pancake blocks. I’m particularly excited to see Towns matched up against North Allegheny’s top pass rusher, Richmond commit DE Daniel Sellers Daniel Sellers 6’3″ | 220 lbs | DL North Allegheny | 2024 State PA . The big OT has received D1 scholarships to Liberty, Fordham, and Bryant so far.
Willie is another skilled defender at St. Joseph’s disposal. He’s an adept press-man defender who contests the ball well on fade routes. Competitive in coverage, Davon is versatile enough to execute press or off-man technique. He plays at a good pad level and displays sound technique in general. His speed and quickness assist him when transitioning to topside positioning on deep routes. Willie currently has a D1 offer from the Saint Francis Red Flash in the NEC.
Jones is yet another versatile specialist who will be counted on in the state championship. His versatility, both inside and outside, presents matchup problems for opposing teams. Elijah is also an FBS recruit with P5 scholarship opportunities. Like the rest of the St. Joseph’s wide receivers, Jones has reliable hands and elite speed. He’s a skilled route runner who displayed the ability to elude defenders in space. Jones is an elite returner who’s also a physical stock blocker. The big-play deep threat has opportunities to play football at Duke, Boston College, Liberty, and Harvard, to list a few.
McGlynn is an Army commit who also received offers from Navy and Harvard. Nick plays with good knee bend and a low center of gravity. He’s pretty athletic overall and moves well tracking the football laterally. With football intelligence, he reads his run-to-pass keys quickly. He’s physical, shedding blockers in run pursuit, and has a nose for the ball. McGlynn is a great zone dropper capable of intercepting and returning a pass for a TD. I also suspect Nick will be a regular special teams contributor at Army. It will be fun watching Nick go up against OL like Jack Yatchenko Jack Yatchenko 6’3″ | 290 lbs | OL North Allegheny | 2025 State PA from North Allegheny.
Shamir is an athlete that displays big-time ability on the gridiron. He has elite defensive back footwork displaying a quick break on the football consistently. His natural instincts and route recognition allow him to contests passes thrown his way. Johnson is a physical press-man corner that sheds stock-blockers quickly in pursuit. His football intelligence and mechanics make him especially formidable in off-coverage. Shamir’s breaking ability is sharp due to his fluid hip movement on film. Johnson and the rest of the SJP secondary are arguably the best in all of PA. He has D1 scholarship offers to Maryland Florida A&M.

Phillips has a compact 5’9, 185-pound build that’s well-suited for the position. His speed and cutting ability are characteristics all D1 specialists possess. Similar to Isaiah West Isaiah West 6’0″ | 215 lbs | RB St. Joseph’s Prep | 2025 State PA , Kahseim has breakaway speed, as showcased numerous times on film. North Allegheny has a lot to be concerned with when Phillips has the rock. Kahseim has D1 offers to Akron, Towson, and Long Island University.
Washington is a burner, a deep threat whenever he’s on the field. He eats up cushion off the snap and has reliable, soft hands. He’s another playmaker that can take it the distance at any time. David is a technician who runs crisp routes and gets in and out of his breaking points. Washington is dangerous in the slot or outside. He’s another St. Joseph’s Prep player who has fielded multiple power five offers before settling on the University of Kentucky. Players like Washington are why SJP is playing in the state championship.
