About Taj
Expert Analysis
Pat Weider | Prep Redzone Scout
Taj Dykes is a physical tough runner who is difficult to bring down. He does a good job making a cut and running downfield. Dyches shows a good ability to make people miss in the hole and run away from defenders. Dyches rarely goes down with only 1 tackler, it usually involves several tacklers trying to take him down. Dyches is very good at short yardage and being a touchrunner inside. Dyches should have an opportunity to play College Football.

Taj Dyches Taj Dyches 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB St. Joseph's Prep | 2024 State PA , despite sharing reps with Caddy Phillips, is too talented to not be recognized as a top 100 prospect. I’ve had a glimpse of his capabilities in this offense, I expect his role to expand. Even if it doesn’t, Dyches will likely make the most of any opportunities, whether they come on the ground or through the air. It goes without saying that SJP depth isn’t like depth at any other program. I imagine FCS programs will pursue the 1st-Team All-Catholic back.

Going to have to disregard measurables with Taj Dyches Taj Dyches 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB St. Joseph's Prep | 2024 State PA . If you want your back to look a certain way, or meet a certain threshold, so be it. I for one want my back to be tough, balanced, and comfortable working on every down. That’s Taj Dyches Taj Dyches 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB St. Joseph's Prep | 2024 State PA . Can work with Jones in zone-read sets, bounces off would-be tacklers consistently too. Low center of gravity combined with a stout build, this kid is going to build enough steam and momentum to plow through DBs if he reaches the second level. Un-offered to this point.

Another year of tape at SJP and Taj Dyches Taj Dyches 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB St. Joseph's Prep | 2024 State PA should secure the FBS/FCS interest I believe he deserves. Fordham had the junior back in for a visit this past month. I’m sure he’s got a camp schedule loaded up but has kept things tight amongst his circle, as many at SJP do, and for good reason. Taj Dyches Taj Dyches 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB St. Joseph's Prep | 2024 State PA will have no shortage of looks considering the talent around him, he himself should garner attention. I expect the young man to have a phenomenal Fall, so I’m leaning toward being confident that everything will play itself out. Watch for him at your camps this summer.

tore through the Roman defense with relative ease. Huge props to the Hawk offensive line that keyed in on their assignments and put a hat on a hat. Phillips scored on the ground and through the air, exploiting holes off tackle and hitting running lanes already in stride. Phillips and the offensive line set the tone of this game. Huge props to

, who has carved out a role for himself in a loaded backfield with young backs waiting in line. Dyches made the most out of each carry. The junior back added a tough goal-line run to his season highlight reel, one that went for a score in this one. Happy to see him finding success at SJP.

Enter the new kids on the block. New to SJP, hardly new to the site. The Hawks reload with transfers out of Archbishop Wood, Conwell-Egan, and Germantown Academy, adding crucial pieces to solidify their offensive line and secondary. You can make the case that both units would suffice without Towns and Willie, yet both additions keep SJP in title consideration. Towns and Willie each rank as top 50 prospects in their class, carrying FCS-floor grades.
The Hawks are hardly in need of weapons, yet you can never have enough. Taj Dyches Taj Dyches 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB St. Joseph's Prep | 2024 State PA is an underrated addition to the program. What his early sample size will look like is up in the air, even where he will positioned isn’t a given. Nonetheless, the kid intrigued me at Germantown. I hope to see the SJP staff make the most of Dyches, it could pay off in the long run.
