Morrison didn’t have a ton of volume last year, with just over 100 carries during Hough’s state championship season. I’m not sure he was 100% healthy last year, but he looks bigger and faster this offseason. He’s a threat to break off a long run at any point, but also has the patience and toughness to pick up four or five yards a pop between the tackles.

JaMarion, or “Boogie” as his nickname goes, really came on strong toward the end of the regular season and continued his impressive play all the way through the playoffs, helping lead the Huskies to a state championship in his sophomore season. College football programs have taken notice since the end of the season, with Boogie picking his first offers from Liberty, Charlotte, East Carolina, and Kent State in that order. Being the clear lead back now for the Huskies, expect another big season out of this talented young man.

is currently ranked No. 4 in the Class of 2028, and he backed that up on the biggest stage. The dynamic running back earned Offensive Player of the Game honors in the 8A State Championship, proving he rises when the lights are brightest. Morrison finished the season with over 700 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns, showcasing burst, vision, and the ability to change a game with one touch. What separates him isn’t just the production — it’s his poise in big moments and natural playmaking instincts. Already one of the top young backs in the state, and his ceiling is still climbing.

Like a couple of other guys, Morrison has been highly ranked for several ranking cycles, and he’s taken some end-of-year momentum into the offseason. A huge back for his age, Morrison burst onto the scene this season as the starter for 8A Champion Hough. He didn’t have a ton of volume—just over eight carries a game—but averaged seven yards per tote and came up key in some huge situations against top defenses.

Jamarion Morrison, Hough’s 2028 RB, set the tone last week with 134 yards on just 14 carries. A powerful back with real burst, Morrison’s blend of strength and speed has been a difference-maker throughout the Huskies’ playoff push.

It’s officially Boogie time for the Huskies, JaMarion’s nickname and what his teammates and coaches call him. The sophomore has raised his game for the playoffs, and he’s been a big part of the offense as a result. In this one, Morrison rushed for 132 yards on 13 carries and had a critical 3rd down catch on a wheel route out of the backfield that set up the Huskies’ first touchdown of the game. Morrison also had a game-sealing 68-yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter that helped send the Huskies to the state championship game.

A big, bruising runner, Morrison shows an impressive burst through the hole. There’s no hiding his intentions here, Morrison wants to get downhill and eat up yardage in a hurry. That’s reflected in his numbers as a freshman. He averaged 6.5 yards per carry on 17 attempts, but only three went for over 10 yards. That’s a skillset teams like Hough need, as he’s not going to get tackled behind the line of scrimmage and also hints at his ability to be a future workhorse option.

9.) Jamarion Morrison – 5’10 200
RB Type: Power
Grades ()
Vision (7.5) Has a tendency to error to the side of truck stick when traffic is coming instead of finding seams to crease through.
Speed (7) Not a speedster. Not slow either. Builds up good momentum when linear.
Power (8.5) Kid is so strong. I’ve seen him drag 2-3 players downfield. If you don’t slow him up early it will be a long 4 quarters.
Balance (7.5) Not bad. Not great. In my opinion this is not because Morrison doesn’t have the skill. He wants to take tacklers down the middle to initiate contact and apply discomfort to the middle of their shoulder pads.Sometimes this allows them to still walk away with a tackle after being trucked. Very hard to keep footing when doing this, once the maturity sets in the next level and my man starts running through half a man….ITS OVER!
Ball Security (7.5) Loosy goosy at times in traffic because of the mentality to run over defenders.
BPA-Big Play Ability (7.5) Easily my short yardage back. Although, he’s the kid that will possibly pop one to the crib in a 3 & short or 4 & inches situation.
I seriously think the world of Jamarion. His passion spills out of the way he plays. I’ll keep it a buck. He’s a bully lol but once the technical side gets developed at a high level, he will fun to watch and tough to handle.
Writer Ed Brooks liked Morrison’s agility and display of catching ball.
