Evans isn’t the crispest route-runner, but he excels at finding ways to get open against both man and zone. Some of that is pure speed, and he was able to torch corners when given one-on-one coverage, something Hough’s offensive scheme did well last season. He was excellent after the catch, showing great intuition about how to attack once he caught the ball.

Tyran had a breakout year as a major down field receiving threat for the Huskies, giving them an explosive dimension in their offense. Tyran’s speed absolutely wins against man coverage – most notably in a showcase game, he had over 200 yards receiving and multiple touchdowns when an opponent stayed exclusively in man coverage all game long. To go along with his speed, Tyran’s height allows him to win vertically in jump ball situations in 1 on 1 situations as well. Tyran committed to the University of Tennessee a couple of months ago, but had several other Power 4 programs to choose from in his selection process.

Evans had a huge year for Hough, and then became one of the most recent Power Four commits in the state. Evans has excellent size, speed, and production. He wasn’t necessarily the go-to guy for Hough, but he was the big-play guy. He averaged over 27 yards a catch on just 36 receptions in 13 games. That said, 14 went for touchdowns and he was unstoppable in several games.

In Tyran’s first season at Hough, he showed why he is such a highly recruited and regarded player in the 2026 class. Tyran showed exceptional speed and explosion on the outside, giving the Huskies offense a new element that produced some impressive results all season long. Tyran totaled nearly 1000 yards receiving and simply could not be covered on a multitude of downfield routes in man coverage. He easily would make my Junior Bowl team.

As I have written about Tyran before, this has been a major breakout season for him on the field. Tyran made a couple of impressive catches deep down the field that setup Huskies touchdown runs as both of them put Hough deep in the red zone. Tyran shows incredible hands and excellent concentration when the ball is in the air. Tyran also uses electric speed to create separation from both corners and safeties. I spoke with Tyran after the game.
