About Brayden
Expert Analysis

A lot has changed for Hunt this offseason as he’s transferred from Metrolina to Hough and is likely to play a bit more outside linebacker than he has in the past. He’s a guy who could grow into an edge as he possesses a lot of the technical skills to excel there. But he moves well in space and has a versatility that can allow him to stay on the field in a variety of situations.

A couple of people have told me they want to see how Brayden has progressed since his freshman season. Brayden has moved over to Hough High School, which has a talented linebacking core that will see a lot of the field this upcoming season, so he has a shot to get into the rotation. I am anxious to see how well Brayden moves in general at this camp.

One of our favorite young prospects, Hunt played everything from off-ball linebacker to defensive tackle last season. I envision him as an old-school thumper at middle linebacker with modern speed and agility. He can come down and stop the run, or drop back into zone coverage. The experience on the edge gives him upside as a pass-rusher as well.

While it’s certainly possible that Hunt grows into an every-down edge rusher, a position that he took snaps at as a freshman, we like him at his primary position off the ball, where he can have a bigger impact in the run game. He’s excellent in pass coverage too, meaning he doesn’t have any limitations at the linebacker position. As a freshman for Metrolina, he was everywhere, lining up off the ball, off the edge and even at defensive tackle, where even at his age, he possessed the strength to hold his own.

The things you love about Brayden are his size and his work ethic, first and foremost. At 6’1 and 200 pounds, Brayden is already built to be a contributor early in his career for a good Metrolina program. Brayden works just about as hard as any young player I’ve seen at his craft as well. As a prospect, Brayden does a good job of holding the edge and making tackles in space against ball carriers. Brayden can also further develop and has shown the ability to play an off-ball linebacker position as well.

A multi-sport athlete (wrestling/track and field) that is a force coming off the edge as an outside linebacker. Really fast off the snap with long arms for a 2028 prospect, that allows him to get by lunging offensive tackles. Tackles violently and does a great job at dropping pad level and wrapping up.
