It would have been fair to bump every member of the Hough offensive line after a dominant 2025 season against top competition. Broome really improved as he grew and became more comfortable at left tackle. His hand placement and use are excellent, allowing him to control smaller edge rushers.

The Huskies’ left tackle had a tough matchup going against some talented edge rushers for the Lions, but he didn’t give up any sacks and did a good job getting movement in the running game. On his teammate Boogie Morrison’s touchdown run, they ran right behind him off of left tackle, and it was great blocking that helped spring him. He will be important in the state title game as well, facing a talented Millbrook defensive line.

Broome is a guy we’ve liked for a while, and he just keeps getting better. He’s a huge tackle prospect who has also played guard in the past. Right now, he’s protecting the quarterback’s blond side on arguably the best team in the state, and he’s excelling in the process. He’s technically sound and equally adept in the run and pass games.

A massive, versatile lineman, Broome can play both guard and tackle for Hough and we’re excited to see how he navigates a tough stretch of defensive lines to start the season. He’s agile for his size, but he’s at his best when he can lock up with defenders as he doesn’t usually let guys free once engaged.

I was VERY happy to hear the news that Broome picked up an offer from the host school in Gardner-Webb at this camp. I have been very high on him since his sophomore year, and the patience he has had to exhibit in today’s college football world is reflective of the times we are in. Broome picked up his first offer in mid-May from Concord University, and then followed that up with an offer from UNC Pembroke. I expect A’Maree to continue to get some recruiting love throughout the summer now that he has gotten on the board.

On the offensive line, I really wanted to see how the Hough tackles handled the pass rush of the Mallard Creek defense. Broome was very impressive in pass protection, he didn’t chase and let the pass rushers come to him, mirrored their movement with his footwork, and never let them turn the corner and affect the quarterback. His athleticism at his size was a lot of fun to watch. Broome was named an All-Conference player last year and he should be heavily considered once again this season, not to mention recruiting attention should be coming his way.
