Matt Morrow | Prep Redzone Scout
Another impact player for the Huskies, LJ did a great job rushing off the edge and keeping West Charlotte’s dual-threat quarterback contained in the pocket all night long. LJ’s speed and coverage ability were also on display against West Charlotte’s running backs and slot receivers as well.

Since his freshman year, LJ has made plays all over the field for the Knights. Playing some running back along with settling into the safety position on defense, LJ has become an absolute tackling machine defensively. LJ shows excellent speed and instincts getting to the football. Once he gets there, LJ tackles ball carriers well in space, often times in a solo fashion. LJ can also be effective in bothan and zone coverages, showing the ability to cover receivers in man coverage downfield especially. LJ has picked up some Division 1 offers and should continue to see increased recruiting attention going into his senior year.

LJ I put in the Athlete category for the Junior Bowl team.because while.he is a dynamite defender as a rover/strong safety, he does have some ability at running back that he doesn’t have to show too often. However, LJ is a tackling machine on defense that gets to the football with bad intentions. LJ shows great tackling technique in the open field, totaling 88 tackles with 12 tackles for loss last season. LJ also does a good job in pass coverage, showing the ability to match up against inside receivers in man and zone coverage. LJ has a ton of recruiting interest, with his latest reported offer coming from Georgia Tech.
