Cameron Smith is another highly recruited prospect who hasn’t received much attention lately due to a commitment being announced! St. Joe’s Prep found a monster in Smith. I got to watch him play in person this past season against IMG Academy, and he impressed me just as much in person as he did on tape! Before getting to his commitment let’s check out how his recruitment went before it!

Offers: Indiana, Wisconsin, Maryland, Duke, Ohio, Cincinnati, Michigan, Pitt, Texas A&M, Penn State, Syracuse, Rutgers, UConn, Boston College, West Virginia, and Temple.

The 6’1 | 210 lb prospect has been receiving attention from some of the biggest programs in the country for a while now. Ultimately Smith announced he would be taking his talents to Duke University to play for the Blue Devils. The Philly to Duke pipeline is real! I’m excited for Cam and can’t wait to see him during his senior campaign.

Cam Smith Cam Smith 6'1" | 200 lbs | LB St. Joseph's Prep | 2025 State PA , who recently announced his commitment to Duke University, has a real chance to jump to the two spot on this list next update. Many outside of PA like Smith as the best backer in the state, but you’d have a hard time convincing me of that when stacked up against teammate Anthony Sacca Anthony Sacca 6'4" | 220 lbs | LB St. Joseph's Prep | 2025 State PA . Regardless of meaningless rankings and trivial positioning, Smith is in the top LB conversation nonetheless. A build best suited for seeking/sprinting to the football. The leanest of the bunch so far, so lateral agility and tracking ball carriers must be a plus. Can argue those are his calling cards. Smith is the crown jewel of the Duke 2025 recruiting class, they’ll be hard-pressed to reel in a better overall prospect. No real hole in his game, can be a gap shooter/clogger without being tasked to do so schematically. Can be trusted to drop into a zone and can athletically match up with a ton of offensive weapons in the state. Interested in seeing how Smith develops from a build POV. I’d imagine Duke wants to keep him snappy and twitchy off the ball, A good 10-15 pounds would likely suffice for ACC play.

Taking visits to West Virginia, Rutgers, and Duke, Cam Smith Cam Smith 6'1" | 200 lbs | LB St. Joseph's Prep | 2025 State PA ‘s recruiting tour has him taking trips South of Pennsylvania, while also still showing love to his home state. The new staff at Indiana added themselves to Smith’s long list of suitors. We’ll see if the star linebacker takes a visit to the Hoosier State at some point this Winter/Spring.
