About Raiden
Expert Analysis

Johnson has the makings of a future D-I prospect at the EDGE/OLB position. He’s a fast, physical defender at 6’2″/215 that possesses the size and athleticism to both set the edge and get after the passer as a rusher. He’s explosive off the ball, violent with his hands, and shows his motor making tackles all over the field. Johnson’s establishing himself among the top defenders in his class early into the 2029 recruiting cycle.

Like Davin Hickman (listed above) Raiden Johnson was also a member of the Vegas Strong 14U team during the 2024 season and will also be taking his talents to Bishop Gorman for high school. One of the best youth football Middle Linebackers I have seen in my 15+ years of covering prospects, he’s as good as they come patrolling the middle. I’ve said it before, he could walk into any high school-to-Division 2 Linebacker in America right now and wouldn’t look out of place at all. Physically imposing size at 6-foot-2 and 205-pounds, with a seek and destroy mentality from the second he buckles his chin strap.

The opinion of a source I trust very much recently texted me, “

Johnson
6'2" | 215 lbs | LB
Bishop Gorman | 2029
NV
is the best 8th grade Middle Linebacker I have ever seen out West.” After seeing him live for the first time in two years–and, I hate using/agreeing to superlatives–but there’s a lot to be said for that. At a slimmed down 6-foot-2 and 205-pounds, Johnson looks like he could walk into a FCS/D2 college football locker room today as a 2029 prospect–and not look out of a place. Johnson, spent his youth career bouncing between the OG Ducks and Vegas Strong–two of the most feared programs in all of youth football. The kid is special as of December 2024–and I 110% agree. The only thing to pay attention to here, is if he grows “too big” for the Linebacker position and is moved to an Edge positions. Regardless, he’s on his way to Bishop Gorman and should have double digit offers by the end of his freshman year.

This young man right here is the real deal. He’s just scratching the surface of what his capability is as a dominant football player. Raiden can play any linebacker position and even cause havoc as true edge defender. He can shut down the A gaps or run sideline to sideline making plays at the second and first levels as well. Watching his pass rushing moves and understanding of how to apply pressure on the quarterback is things you see from high schoolers. When he finishes his career at Gorman we will all be waiting to see what big D1 he choices. Baller!

With remarkable physical attributes, he possesses an extraordinary combination of height, weight, and speed that sets him apart from his peers. As a linebacker, he is a formidable force to be reckoned with on the field. His impressive speed allows him to cover ground quickly, chase down ball carriers, and cover shifty slot WRs with ease. Johnson’s strength is another attribute that gives him a competitive edge, overpowering his opponents and gaining an advantage in one-on-one situations. It’s no wonder he is a rising star in the football world, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him. A big 2028 prospect, just beginning seventh-grade this school year, he’s already a legitimate 5-foot-11 and 175-pounds. Taking one look at Johnson, you can see there’s a ton of muscle mass on Johnson’s frame. Currently bouncing between Inside Linebacker and Defensive End, it doesn’t matter where he’s lined up, he has a nose for the ball. Without knowing for sure, but looking at his current size and build, I think there’s reason to believe he will settle in at home at that Defensive Line spot.
