Nickels is an elite athlete who is currently committed to the University of Hawaii. Nickels has primarily played on the defensive side of the ball but will transition to play WR for the national powerhouse Bishop Gorman Squad in his senior campaign. Nickels has great acceleration and agility to dominate on offense and has shown his ability to play WR at the D1 level in the camp circuit this off-season.

Nickels earned first team All-Southern Nevada honors with 21 total tackles and 2 INTs in his junior season. The Hawaii-commit is one of the most skilled and fluid cover-corners in his class and has the make-up of a future nickel CB at the next level. Nickels should continue to be a valuable piece of one of the most talented secondaries in the country coming into his senior season.

Nickels projects to be a significant contributor for Bishop Gorman in the fall after transferring from Desert Pines before his sophomore season. He showed promising natural athleticism and WR skillset as a freshman with great speed, body control, and ball-tracking as a vertical threat. He does a good job of selling deep on short routes with his quick burst and ability to stop on a dime. He’s flashy and elusive after the catch with the agility and quickness to turn small amounts of space into explosive gains. Nickels- who holds offers from Hawaii and UNLV- should continue to prove his playmaking upside with increased opportunities for the Gaels this fall.
