He gets great arm extension on the offensive lineman and has good power rush moves from the inside. Carrington is a wrestler and you can tell when with his quick hands and explosiveness.

Carrington took over the #1 spot in Nevada’s 2026 class after transferring over to Bishop Gorman from Georgia. He’s a strong, powerful athlete at 6’2”/260 with game-wrecking explosiveness and physicality on the defensive front-seven. He dominates the LOS with an explosive first step and quick, violent hands to shed. He shows great lateral range in pursuit and relentlessly attacks the backfield to create negative plays. Totaled an eye-opening 15 sacks and 22 TFLs in Georgia last season. Carrington- who holds 30+ D-I offers- has picked up offers from Oregon, Florida, and Washington in recent months.

James is already a nationally touted recruit, so don’t be surprised when he hits the ground running as one of Las Vegas’ top DL prospects this fall. The Georgia native recently received offers from Florida & Washington, and I would expect more west coast schools to come calling this spring. James’ next level range shows easily shedding blockers and chasing down ball carriers behind the line of scrimmage as a run defender. James shows a rare combination of size, power, and lateral quickness easily beating interior blockers as a pass rusher. James’ athleticism, strength, and explosive power suggests he has all the tools to be a versatile, interior pass rusher in college.
