SAN JUAN HILLS VS. YORBA LINDA

Yorba Linda is undefeated and ran the ball very well against Villa Park last week. Cole Nerio ran for 120 yards with two touchdowns and the team ran for 214 yards. Yorba Linda's defense forced five turnovers including two interceptions from Thomas Knutson and two turnovers from Santiago Salas. San Juan Hills had its best running game of the season last week as well behind [player_tooltip player_id='1296204' first='Elijah' last='Ayala']. [player_tooltip player_id='283687' first='Timmy' last='Herr'] completed 16 of 19 passes for 167 yards with two touchdowns in that win over Corona del Mar. The Stallions' two defensive stars: [player_tooltip player_id='155848' first='Weston' last='Port'] and [player_tooltip player_id='406736' first='Chris' last='Williams'], forced fumbles in that game.

CATHEDRAL CATHOLIC VS. GRANITE HILLS

These are two potential Open Division teams in San Diego. Cathedral Catholic has shutout its last two opponents and is 5-1 on the season. [player_tooltip player_id='1000878' first='Brady' last='Palmer'] has a case for being the top quarterback in San Diego and the Dons run for 177 yards per game. Cathedral Catholic has some good defensive players like [player_tooltip player_id='780269' first='Bronx' last='Letuligasenoa'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1362381' first='Josh' last='Faraimo']. Granite Hills has also shutout its last two opponents. [player_tooltip player_id='612834' first='Maxwell' last='Turner'] is the top running back in San Diego and [player_tooltip player_id='691923' first='Zachary' last='Benitez'] is a good sophomore quarterback. Trevor Smith has been Granite Hills' best defender this season with three interceptions and leads the team in tackles.

JSERRA VS. ORANGE LUTHERAN

Orange Lutheran was beating St. John Bosco by 10 at halftime and gave the Braves everything they could handle. [player_tooltip player_id='282728' first='TJ' last='Lateef'] threw two touchdown passes and [player_tooltip player_id='282694' first='Steve' last='Chavez'] had a season-high 131 yards with a touchdown. AJ Ia had two touchdown receptions and [player_tooltip player_id='1197624' first='Matthew' last='Zapien'] had an interception. JSerra was upset by Servite last week and allowed a ton of rushing yards. [player_tooltip player_id='282705' first='Madden' last='Faraimo'] was out for that game and might return, but Chavez may have another big game if not. JSerra won this game 24-14 last season.

SIERRA CANYON VS. NOTRE DAME

Notre Dame got a big Mission League win last week over Bishop Amat. [player_tooltip player_id='282750' first='Steele' last='Pizzella'] is one of the most fun quarterbacks to watch in Southern California. Sierra Canyon dominated Chaminade 42-3 last week and got five rushing touchdowns from [player_tooltip player_id='584471' first='Jaxsen' last='Stokes'] and [player_tooltip player_id='282703' first='Dane' last='Dunn']. [player_tooltip player_id='282687' first='Wyatt' last='Becker'] should be able to move the ball through the air against Notre Dame's defense. [player_tooltip player_id='1182984' first='Mikhal' last='Johnson'] had two sacks last week and [player_tooltip player_id='1197202' first='Richard' last='Wesley'] always causes problems in the backfield. I don't think Notre Dame's receivers will be able to get open quick enough against [player_tooltip player_id='723731' first='Jae'on' last='Young'], [player_tooltip player_id='401278' first='Madden' last='Riordan'] and [player_tooltip player_id='282739' first='Nevada' last='Miller'].

MATER DEI VS. SERVITE

This is the best Servite team since the 2021 team led by Noah Fifita and Tetairoa McMillan. [player_tooltip player_id='723744' first='Quaid' last='Carr'] has a case to be the best running back in Orange County and dominated JSerra last week. Servite's offense is somewhat one-dimensional with [player_tooltip player_id='406664' first='Leo' last='Hannan'] out with an injury, but Servite's offensive line is good enough to get away with it. [player_tooltip player_id='282698' first='Jordon' last='Davison'] ran the ball well last week against Santa Margarita. [player_tooltip player_id='212233' first='Shaun' last='Scott'] had his best game of the season last week for the Monarchs and [player_tooltip player_id='723696' first='Abduall' last='Sanders'] forced a fumble. I think [player_tooltip player_id='270900' first='Dash' last='Beierly'] could have his biggest passing game of the season this week and I don't think Servite can survive being one-dimensional against Mater Dei.
