Expert Analysis
Michael Huntley | Prep Redzone Scout
Herr played the entire game at quarterback for the South due to the other quarterback sustaining an injury days before the game. He picked up some crucial first downs with his legs and threw two nice touchdown passes. Without his scrambling and toughness, the South may not have won the game.

Herr completed 73 percent of his passes for 242 yards with 30 touchdowns and ran for eight touchdowns this season.
He gets the ball out quickly and goes through his progressions quickly because he has a good understanding of what San Juan Hills wants to do offensively. Herr is dangerous in the run game and is a tough guy who will lower his shoulder against bigger defenders.
Portland State offered Herr last summer.

Herr completed 69 percent of his passes for 186 yards per game with 22 touchdowns and just four interceptions with 9 rushing touchdowns.
He was one of the quickest releases in the county and goes through his progressions quickly. Herr does a very good job keeping his eyes on the secondary when evading pressure and is a really dangerous scrambler who can get big chunks of yards with his legs. He isn’t afraid to take risks with the ball but also doesn’t make many mistakes which is a good combination. Herr has offers from Portland State, East Carolina and Western Michigan.

Read EvaluationPaul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Herr is a very technically sound passer that gets the ball out fast and moves through his progressions quickly. He is a on-schedule thrower that can fit the ball into tight windows and throws a tight spiral at all three levels. He shows he can feel pressure and is not afraid to step up and take a hit in order to deliver the ball downfield while also showing he can throw on the run and across his body. He has a snappy release and does a good job using his lower half to generate power downfield. Although more of a pocket passer, he can run if needed and has excellent foot work and awareness with the ball his hands. Currently he holds offers from Western Michigan and East Carolina.
