Each week I will pick the top seven games in Southern California and break them down.

I stumbled a bit last week and went 5-2.

NARBONNE VS. CATHEDRAL (LA)

Narbonne is the top team in the LA City Section and has challenged itself with a tough schedule. The Gauchos are 0-2 against Southern Section teams this season. Oklahoma commit [player_tooltip player_id='401257' first='Jaden' last='O'Neal'] is Narbonne's quarterback and he has excellent receivers to throw to like [player_tooltip player_id='401302' first='Xavier' last='Owens'], Michael Ashford and Da'mari Hall. Cathedral is 4-0 with impressive wins over Loyola and Chaminade. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='709616' first='Jaden' last='Jefferson'] has been great at quarterback for Cathedral and [player_tooltip player_id='1197535' first='Quentin' last='Hale'] is his top target. James Lawyer leads the defense with three of the team's eight interceptions.

The pick: Cathedral

https://twitter.com/CoreyCarmona/status/1833926328304754705

SAN MARCOS VS. MISSION HILLS

Mission Hills had an excellent win over Orange Vista, a very good Southern Section team last week. The Grizzlies are led by Penn State commit [player_tooltip player_id='401299' first='Troy' last='Huhn'] at quarterback. [player_tooltip player_id='780314' first='Kreet' last='Makihele'] everages 312 yards per game with 16 touchdowns and just three interceptions. [player_tooltip player_id='406676' first='Jase' last='Nix'] is one of the top receivers in San Diego and the addition of Army commit [player_tooltip player_id='976895' first='Elijah' last='Bechtel'] has been huge for the Knights. Mission Hills beat San Marcos twice last season and knocked them out of the playoffs with a 27-13 win. San Marcos is much better this season than it was a year ago.

The pick: San Marcos

https://twitter.com/prestige1sports/status/1829769664295215487

CHINO HILLS VS. SAN CLEMENTE

Chino Hills quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='401215' first='Alex' last='Medyn'] completed 86 percent of his passes for 326 yards and five touchdowns last week in a blowout win over JW North. Cameron Bateman was his top target with 119 yards and two touchdowns. San Clemente got a much-needed convincing win over Corona del Mar last week. Colin Kohl had three rushing touchdowns and [player_tooltip player_id='723866' first='Dawson' last='Martinez'] had his best game at quarterback this season. Riley Kelley and [player_tooltip player_id='1149017' first='Max' last='Bollard'] had interceptions and [player_tooltip player_id='270882' first='Max' last='Kotiranta'] can create turnovers too. [player_tooltip player_id='820596' first='Matai' last='Tagoa'i'] and [player_tooltip player_id='976882' first='Lee' last='Fuimaono'] fly to the ball and can create havoc for San Clemente.

The pick: San Clemente

https://twitter.com/BallySportWest/status/1834787927349747741

HELIX VS. CATHEDRAL CATHOLIC

Granite Hills transfer Isaiah Jackson has been a huge addition for Helix this season at running back. [player_tooltip player_id='1262944' first='Harlem' last='Harris'] is a shifty receiver who can make big plays. [player_tooltip player_id='1197328' first='Jeremy' last='Davis'] leads Helix's defense that has played much better the past two weeks. Cathedral Catholic's defense can fly around with [player_tooltip player_id='1362381' first='Josh' last='Faraimo'] and Sydney Dupuy. Jake Funderberg has been leading the Dons in rushing and [player_tooltip player_id='1000878' first='Brady' last='Palmer'] is the best quarterback in San Diego.

The pick: Cathedral Catholic

https://twitter.com/3rdEyeQue/status/1835124098441396697

MIRA COSTA VS. SAN JUAN HILLS

Mira Costa had a fantastic win last week against Damien who is the best team in the San Gabriel Valley in my opinion. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1611360' first='AJ' last='McBean'] has been a breakout player for Mira Costa and Liam Meeker has been playing well at quarterback too. Magnus Johnson had two interceptions last week. San Juan Hills got a nice win over private school Crean Lutheran last week. [player_tooltip player_id='283687' first='Timmy' last='Herr'] is a dual threat quarterback who has improved at reading defenses. [player_tooltip player_id='155848' first='Weston' last='Port'] leads the defense with Tanner Rohan, Grant Kitteredge and recent NAU commit [player_tooltip player_id='406736' first='Chris' last='Williams']. I think this a tough matchup for Mira Costa.

The pick: San Juan Hills

https://twitter.com/ocvarsityguy/status/1834850395740659839

JSERRA VS. DAMIEN

Damien is coming off a tough home loss to Mira Costa. [player_tooltip player_id='212219' first='Isaiah' last='Arriaza'] has put up big numbers at quarterback for Damien and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1382568' first='Travon' last='Garrison'] has been a big play threat. [player_tooltip player_id='294308' first='Caden' last='Arellano'] leads the defense and I'm high on sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1197250' first='Iona' last='Uiagalelei']. JSerra beat the top team in San Diego, Lincoln, last week. [player_tooltip player_id='1284693' first='Ryan' last='Hopkins'] has been a star at quarterback for the Lions and JSerra does a good job protecting him. [player_tooltip player_id='1182920' first='Simote' last='Katoanga'] will put pressure on Arriaza and maybe force him to make throws he doesn't want to make.

The pick: JSerra

https://twitter.com/JSerraAthletics/status/1836094784647368859

PITTSBURG VS. ST. JOHN BOSCO

St. John Bosco is playing top Northern California teams in back-to-back weeks. The Braves dominated Serra of San Mateo 56-16 last week. [player_tooltip player_id='401284' first='Matai' last='Fuiava'] has been very good at quarterback and the receiving corps is as good as it's been in years. Isala Wily-Ava has been a breakout sophomore for Bosco's defense and [player_tooltip player_id='401241' first='Dutch' last='Horisk'] is still one of the best pass rushers in the state. [player_tooltip player_id='349219' first='Jamar' last='Searcy'] has been good at running back for Pittsburg and Marley Alcantara has completed 72 percent of his passes this season with seven touchdowns and no interceptions. There is only one team in the state that can beat St. John Bosco, and this isn't it.

The pick: St. John Bosco

https://twitter.com/boscofootball/status/1836577723860328892

HUNTLEY'S RECORD: 22-6

Each week I will pick the top seven games in Southern California and break them down.
