Under Armour Next Camp MVPs

<p>The Under Armour Next All-American camp made a stop to Los Angeles on Sunday and hundreds of the top players in Southern California were in attendance. It is the most competitive camp each offseason and Sunday was no exception with several players having great days.</p>   <p>Here were the players who were named positional MVPs by camp coaches and officials.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>OFFENSIVE LINE</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Mailangi was a nightmare matchup for many of the defensive linemen on Sunday and they all had a hard time driving him back. He never gives up too much ground and does a great job keeping his hips square to the line of scrimmage. Mailangi is great at mirroring the defensive linemen with his footwork and never getting caught leaning. He has a good mix of speed and power moves and knows how to use the offensive linemen's leverage against them. Williams caught guys leaning too much a few times, threw them forward and got into the backfield. He has put on some muscle since I last saw him and he is a front of the line type of guy eager to get more reps at events like this. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/DarianWebb2/status/2043411607095804135?s=20 </div></figure>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>LINEBACKER</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">There were a few linebackers who could have been considered for MVP but Staples was consistent throughout the camp. I expected to see him work out as an edge rusher but he showed he can be a traditional linebacker. Staples is a very good athlete who moves well laterally and had the speed to hang with the running backs down the field during the one-on-one period. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/TheUCReport/status/2043408751705891217?s=20 </div></figure>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>QUARTERBACK</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Several quarterbacks had good showings at the event but Carper was consistently delivering accurate balls during the one-on-one period. He has plus arm strength with a quick release and is a good rhythm thrower. He's a high-level route runner who can change speeds during the route to manipulate defenders. Tubbs has the speed to blow by guys and create separation late in the route. He has good hands and body control near the sidelines. Tubbs won every rep I saw him take and mixed up his routes well.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/On3USC/status/2043507629054722215?s=20 </div></figure>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>DEFENSIVE BACK</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">McNeil was in the hip pocket of receivers throughout the one-on-one period and has good ball skills. He times his pass break ups well without holding or drawing potential flags.
