Searcy is coming off a stellar Senior season for the northern California champion Pittsburg Pirates and was voted the Bay Area player of the year a few weeks back. He opened up his recruitment after de-committing from Washington State when that staff left to Wake Forest and upon taking his official visit committed to the Demon Deacons. This is a big time get as he is one of the top overall football players in the state of California and one of the best running back to region has seen in recent memory.

Searcy is one of the best two-way players in the state of California, and signed with Washington State during the first initial national signing day before the Washington State staff imploded and went their separate ways with coach Dickert going to Wake Forest. Since then, the Pittsburg product opened up his recruitment and has seen some schools come in and offer such as SMU and Wake Forest (to no surprise) and now remains one of the top uncommitted kids on the west coast. He put up big time numbers in his senior year for the Pirates, rushing for 1,400 yards and 18 touchdowns and adding another 300 yards receiving. Defensively, he tacked on another 50 tackles from his safety position.

Searcy made a huge jump in the updated rankings landing at #73 overall and the sixth ranked ATH in the 2025 class. At 5’8” 180 lbs. he’s a dynamic athlete that is a difference maker in all three phases of the game. Explosive as a ball carrier with his combination of strength, balance, and speed. Plus lateral agility and change of direction, his cuts are quick and sudden to make defenders miss in the open field. He accelerates out and can break away using his top end speed to cap off long runs in the endzone. He was exceptional in the state title game against Lincoln where he flashed his playmaking ability at RB, DB, and returner. Rushed for 1,866 all-purpose yards and 21 touchdowns as a senior. Committed to Washington State over 10 other D1 offers.

Searcy had perhaps the top performance of the entire weekend at the state championships for Pittsburg, and is looking to be an absolute steal for Washington State. He has shown through out his senior year that he is one of the top two-way players across the entire state, and saved perhaps his best performance for last on Friday night. He made big plays time and time again for the Pirates and was a big reason why they were able to stay in the game with a loaded Lincoln squad on the other sideline. He finished the state championship with 175 yards rushing and 3 scores, while adding another score on 67 yards receiving. Searcy will go down as one of the top two-way players this region has seen in many years and will be a name we will eventually hear on Saturdays.

Searcy is committed to Washington State, but still could be one of the more under-recruited prospects across the region in this 2025 class. He is one of the best running backs in the state, and a true two-way guy at the highest level of high school football in Northern California.
He had another terrific performance against one of the best front 7’s in northern California rushing for 116 yards and 1 score while averaging over 7 yards per carry. With Pitt’s season still alive and well, he will be a big part of the game-plan against SRV on Friday night.

Searcy has been having one of the best rushing seasons of any back across the NCS, and is in a prime position to have another stellar week in the NCS Open-Division finals on Friday night against De La Salle. In the opening round of the NCS playoffs, Searcy had another strong performance rushing for 165 yards and 2 scores, in a 35-14 win over Clayton Valley. The Senior rusher remains committed to Washington State, but picked up a Cal offer back in the middle of October making him one of the more interesting prospects to watch as we near the first national signing day, and will be a big time steal for whoever he ends up signing with as he has been under-recruited as well through his prep career.

Searcy is one of the more under-rated running backs across the state, and has dominated prep competition through his high school career for Pitt. He is a violent and explosive back with strong contact balance, a good initial burst and natural forward lean at the POA while looking for contact in the hole and finishes runs with nasty intentions. Searcy has recently picked up offers from Washington State and SJSU with others more than likely not far behind as we move through the Spring.

Searcy is a dynamic athlete that can be a game breaker in all three phases. Possesses a strong compact frame at 5’8” 180 lbs. with fluid athleticism and change of direction. Made explosive plays as a RB, DB, and kick returner in his first year at Pittsburg since transferring from Liberty. Makes quick lateral cuts on a dime and accelerates out to be elusive in the open field. Gets to top speed within a few strides and flashes a sustained second gear to break away from defenders in space. At Safety, he shows great range and ball skills. Demonstrated recovery speed and the ability to transition out of his back pedal to break on the ball. Rushed for almost 1,000 yards including 10 touchdowns, picked off four passes, and returned multiple punts for touchdowns as a junior. Holds four D1 offers to date but will pick up more as the recruiting cycle progresses.
