Bay Port Rushing Attack vs De Pere Front 7

Bay Port won the D1 State Championship on the back of an outstandingly balanced offensive attack. In 2025 it looks like more of the same, but with rushing taking the lead with about 500 more yards worth of production through 6 games. The backfield duo of RB [player_tooltip player_id='1801490' first='Brady' last='Moon'] and QB [player_tooltip player_id='1247534' first='Matt' last='Stevens'] have paired together to generate 1,000+ yards of rushing and 17 TDs. Moon is averaging 8.6 yds/carry and Stevens is averaging 6.5 yds/carry. The two pair together behind a dominant OL made up of guys like Wisconsin Badgers commit [player_tooltip player_id='1361650' first='Aiden' last='Dirksen'] and rising sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1287655' first='Jace' last='Fontaine'].

On the flip side, the De Pere front seven is going to need to be ready for war in the trenches. The unit is led by prolific junior LB [player_tooltip player_id='1570847' first='Cayden' last='Cavanaugh'] who has at least 36 tackles on the season while roaming sideline to sideline. In front of him he has DL that have shown they can be stout and get to the ball like Conley Hattendorf who has 15 tackles, 2 TFLs, and 2 sacks on the year. Also among that front seven, at times, is [player_tooltip player_id='1181778' first='Drew' last='Taber']. The junior is listed as an OLB/S and you will find him all over the field making plays. Friday night he will be a key piece to shutting down that Pirates rushing attack. It is going to be an exciting matchup of two talented units.

New Richmond Rushing Attack vs Menomonie Rushing Attack

Now obviously these two units won't be going head to head on Friday night. However, both teams will be looking to set the tone using their respective run game. New Richmond has an outstanding talent in junior RB [player_tooltip player_id='1647055' first='Austyn' last='Wittek'] who is averaging an insane 10+ yds/att while also seeing contribution from 6'4" 225 lbs senior QB [player_tooltip player_id='1126287' first='Nick' last='Stellrecht'] on the ground. Wittek has the speed and the physical running to create the big plays and take this game over.

On the other side we have Menomonie. A team that is not afraid to grind out a game with their ground game. They too are led by an impressive junior in RB DJ Butler. The junior has over 500 yards and is averaging 7.4 yds/carry. A good chunk of work is also going to senior Luke Pember who is averaging just under 6 yards/carry. I can't wait to see the numbers from this battle.

Arrowhead Run Offense/Defense vs Mukwonago Run Offense/Defense

These two teams are insanely matched, both in talent and in production when it comes to the run game and stopping the run. That should make for an unreal battle Friday night. Looking at the numbers, both teams have 17 rushing TDs on the year and are neck and neck in rush yards. Mukwonago holds a slight lead with 1,434 yards to Arrowhead's 1,380 yards. The Arrowhead rushing attack is spearheaded by senior RB [player_tooltip player_id='948090' first='Jacob' last='Siner'] and his 723 yards and junior Jabari Craig with his 373 yards. Mukwonago will be led by senior RB [player_tooltip player_id='1220722' first='Colton' last='Lynch'] with his 669 yards and junior Jerell Anderson and his 573 yards. The Arrowhead duo has 14 TDs to go against the Mukwonago duos 16 TDs. No matter how you compare, these two units are talented, deep, and extremely productive.

That means both defenses will have their work cut out for them. Lucky for them each unit has loaded front sevens. LB [player_tooltip player_id='700149' first='Brendan' last='Foley'] leads the way for Arrowhead with 47 tackles including 5 sacks, and 7 TFLs. You can expect to see #0 all over the field Friday night. Joining him as athletes to watch in that front seven are SO Jake Downing on the DL, senior [player_tooltip player_id='1251538' first='Tristen' last='Seidl'], and junior DL [player_tooltip player_id='1639174' first='Keith' last='Willingham'] among others. Mukwonago is led by potentially the best LB corps in the state. [player_tooltip player_id='1801645' first='Noah' last='Dodds'] leads the way at LB with an elite 52 tackles, 8 TFLs, and 3.5 sacks. Joining him is senior LB [player_tooltip player_id='1311432' first='Connor' last='Kreger'], and seniors Evan Ginsch and Kade Gunderson. It is a veteran defense in Mukwonago that has seen a ton of varsity action. Get ready for a war between these two units!

Lake Mills Passing Attack vs Columbus Pass Defense

Lake Mills leads the state in passing TDs and is 4th in passing yards. Junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='1226894' first='Tyler' last='Wollin'] has been on a mission to prove he is the best in the state and doing a great job of it. The junior is completing 66% of his passes while averaging over 18 yds/completion. He is pushing the ball downfield while protecting it. Tyler is also getting it into the endzone with 23 passing TDs through 6 games. The offense is also doing a great job spreading it around with 15 kids making a reception so far. That includes 4 athletes who have 10+ catches on the year. There is also 4 athletes with 20+ yds/rec averages and a 5th who is at 19. Receivers to know for this matchup are [player_tooltip player_id='1336912' first='Dylan' last='Brinkmann'], Collin Christian, Jackson Roberts, and Ethan Gliniecki.

On the other side of the formation will be Columbus trying to slow down that elite passing attack. That unit will be led up front by Central Michigan commit [player_tooltip player_id='1361629' first='Wyatt' last='Graffin'] on the DL. Wyatt was second in the state in 2024 in sacks and currently has 3.5 this season along with 8.5 TFLs. Helping get pressure will be Jonny Cotter who has piled up 6.5 TFLs along with a sack of his own. On the backend you can find playmakers like Mankato commit DB [player_tooltip player_id='948121' first='Jordan' last='Mobry'], LB [player_tooltip player_id='1715154' first='Owen' last='Hacht'], DB Brady Volesky, and DB Jack Towne. All of who have 1 INT. I really like the matchup between the two units, so I will be waiting anxiously to see the results.

High Flying Offense (Germantown) vs Immovable Defense (Pewaukee)

I have been a big fan of the pieces on this Germantown offense for a few years now. They have been able to move the ball up and down the field through the air and on the ground utilizing a variety of athletes. It all starts up front. Germantown has an elite talent collection on the OL. The group contains elite prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1335688' first='Cole' last='Reiter'], and joining him are juniors Brady Moranksi and [player_tooltip player_id='1228379' first='Carter' last='Gordon']. All three were big pieces in 2024, are key to their success in 2025, and will be back in 2026. Behind them is dynamic QB Vinny Inga who has 1,249 passing yards and 221 rushing yards creating a total of 19 TDs. The WR talent for Inga to target is also impressive. Seniors Liam Harland, [player_tooltip player_id='402809' first='Christian' last='Griffin'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1610074' first='Griffin' last='Stein'] lead the way along with Tyler Olszewski. Keeping things balanced in the backfield are senior [player_tooltip player_id='402820' first='Tyler' last='Conradt'] and junior [player_tooltip player_id='1620402' first='Rave' last='Sickler'].

That loaded unit will be facing off against a stout defense. The unit is led by Winona State edge commit [player_tooltip player_id='403583' first='Semaji' last='Petzold'] with his 14 tackles, and 3 TFLs. That interior of the DL is filled out with some elite talent including [player_tooltip player_id='1226887' first='Cade' last='Reikowski'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1361610' first='Tucker' last='Thieneman'] who dominate on the OL, but also step up on defense. The LBs corps is led by guys like Carson Taylor, [player_tooltip player_id='1570855' first='Colton' last='Wall'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1308431' first='Bryson' last='King']. All of which have over 25 tackles. You can look for Ethan Rhoades and Ethan Monfeli making plays in coverage too. This slugfest is going to be one to watch.

Mondovi Offense vs Regis Defense

This is going to be an exciting game. Mondovi and Regis have been top powers in the small school divisions, including a trip or two to state for both in the past few years. This version of the Mondovi offense might be the best we have seen. They are led by a special sophomore dual threat QB in [player_tooltip player_id='1627996' first='Bode' last='Falkner']. Bode has 850+ passing yards on the year and 800+ rushing yards with a combined 20 TDs that he is responsible for through 6 games. Trying to contain that type of athleticism is going to be trouble enough, but the backfield also has three other ball carriers to key on. That is [player_tooltip player_id='1220790' first='Carter' last='Heike'], Blake Williamson, and Cameron Gruber. The defense will also need someone to try and run with Beau Spindler, a sophomore who is leading the receiving categories with 22/415/4.

The defensive unit that will be trying to contain the Mondovi offense is impressively deep for being a small school. Junior Mason McCoy leads the way with 50 tackles. Joining him is [player_tooltip player_id='1471141' first='Noah' last='Laber'] with his 37 tackles, Carter Whiteside with 28 tackles, and [player_tooltip player_id='1610338' first='Tyler' last='Gehling'] with 27 tackles, 4 TFLs, and 4 sacks. This Regis defense has three shutouts on the year and a 4th game where they only gave up 6 points. So they are going to be flying around and making plays. This is going to be a fun battle to watch back.
