As I’m writing this it just hit the timeline that WI’s #1 QB has made his decision and committed to Winona State! Huge congratulations on that move, Tyler! When choosing my athletes for this article Tyler is an easy choice. Talent and on field production come together to produce a ton of team success. QB1 can make the video game worthy play with his legs to buy time and has the arm to make every single throw on the field, something Winona State fans are going to love when he gets on campus. The poise and command he displays is also the best in the state. This is a kid who checks every box and will fill up the box score every Friday night. If you are looking for Friday night action, you can’t go wrong with choosing to watch Wollin and the L-Cats go to work.

With around 50 QBs in attendance, the inarguable Alpha Dog of the signal-callers represented at SDSU’s second prospect camp of the summer was 2027 Tyler Wollin. A heralded QB prospect out of the Badger State and southwest Wisconsin’s Lake Mills High School, Wollin came into the camp with offers from the likes of Winona State. St. Thomas, MSU-Mankato, Drake, Sioux Falls, Bemidji State, and Northern State from 2026. Wollin’s noticeable size + poise in the pocket, big arm that can push the ball to all three levels of the field with accuracy, touch, and timing, and his manufacturing of the most consistent & impressive overall body of work in Brookings during the skills session of the Jacks’ second camp of the summer, you can see why he’s so popular on the recruiting trail.

Next up we have the longtime QB1 here in WI. Tyler has had a good summer including a trip out to South Dakota State where he left with the QB MVP honor. The 6’3″ 200 lbs signal caller is exactly what many look for at the position. Experience, production, and a winning history with glimpses of clutch moments over three years of varsity experience. On the field, Tyler is always in command of his offense. He understands his reads, is poised in the pocket, and has elite command over his ball placement as well as a great sense of touch and when to lean on the velocity he can put on the ball when necessary. The Lake Mills standout is set to have a huge senior season. I can’t wait to see who hits the lottery with this kid.

Right up there with the linemen and other impressive specimen in the Class of 2027 is our QB1 Tyler Wollin Tyler Wollin 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Lake Mills | 2027 State WI . A QB that I have watched over and over because he checks off so many boxes when watching the tape. He looks the part at 6’3″ 205 lbs. He offers the threat to do damage with his legs. The pinpoint accuracy while throwing from the pocket or on the move is effective and consistent to the short, intermediate, and deep levels of the field. It is also so clear that the 2027 recruit is dedicated to getting better at his craft. He is constantly training in the offseason, and doing it while leading his basketball team to huge successes during the winter. Arm talent, mobility, size, dedication, and leadership come together to make our WI QB1. You need to watch him in person.
Tyler currently holds offers from South Dakota and Northern State. Make sure to get out and watch the ’27 QB1 throw live this spring/summer.

On the season the junior is averaging 17.7 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 7.1 APG, and 2.7 SPG. Lake Mills is having a great year, sitting at 21-2 overall.
We have been preaching the same thing with Tyler. He is talented and dedicated to his craft. Not only is he at a great point in his development, but also striving to be better while still playing other sports at a high level. Tyler checks the boxes from accuracy to mechanics to athleticism to arm strength to hit every necessary window. He is continuing to have QB1 locked down.
