Athletes Worth the Price of Admission

This feature is all about the high profile athletes who are worth going to a game just to see what they might do that night. It might be because of a high level of talent, or because they are putting up video game numbers on a weekly basis. Maybe they are locked into the race for Player of the Year. Whatever it is, these athletes are in this article because they are going to prove to be well worth any price of admission. Let's dive in, and if any of them are playing near you on a Friday night I'd recommend checking them out. You won't regret it.    As I'm writing this it just hit the timeline that WI's #1 QB has made his decision and committed to Winona State! Huge congratulations on that move, Tyler! When choosing my athletes for this article Tyler is an easy choice. Talent and on field production come together to produce a ton of team success. QB1 can make the video game worthy play with his legs to buy time and has the arm to make every single throw on the field, something Winona State fans are going to love when he gets on campus. The poise and command he displays is also the best in the state. This is a kid who checks every box and will fill up the box score every Friday night. If you are looking for Friday night action, you can't go wrong with choosing to watch Wollin and the L-Cats go to work.     If you love disruptive defensive play, elite DL prospects, and consistent production in opposing backfields then you need to pay the admission to watch [player_tooltip player_id='1620332' first='Deangelo' last='Clay'] ball out for the Monona Grove defense. Over the past two seasons there hasn't been a more disruptive individual defender in the state of WI. A big reason why is because we also haven't seen a more explosive, violent, and technically sound DL in recent years. From his feet to his hands, everything Deangelo does is loaded up with power. He also plays with extremely low pad level and uses leverage perfectly to get OL off balance when he goes with a power move. Clay is able to win is so many ways and is not only worth the price of admission, but someone that other young DL can learn from. If you want to see impactful defensive football then [player_tooltip player_id='1620332' first='Deangelo' last='Clay'] is a must watch!     In reality I'm excited to see this entire Franklin roster play this season. A big reason why is the field general leading the way for the offense. [player_tooltip player_id='1620330' first='Keegan' last='Best'] is coming off a strong season with 1,619 yards, 12 TDs on 58% completion percentage. The 6'3" 185 lbs QB returns. his #1 target and a talented OL in front of him. Keegan is a technician at QB. He plays on quick feet that can move and slide him around the pocket. The eyes stay locked downfield, and he has the accuracy to dominate with his ball placement to all three levels of the field. Keegan should have great command of the offense and be ready to start the year hot from the jump. If you're in the Milwaukee area looking for some dang good high school football, you can't go wrong with Franklin and [player_tooltip player_id='1620330' first='Keegan' last='Best'].     When it comes to playmakers on the perimeter you are hard-pressed to find a more dynamic athlete than Edgerton's [player_tooltip player_id='1620322' first='Eli' last='Kittleson']. The 2027 WR/DB is an electric athlete with speed, agility, vision, and that rare knack for the ability to make the extraordinary play look easy. As a junior Eli produced in every facet. On offense he had 41/680/15 TDs, on defense he put up 5 INTs with a pick six, and on special teams we saw him return 2 for scores. Get him the football and big things happen. The three phase athlete is also worth the price of admission because you won't ever see him off the field for the vast majority of the game. This is going to be one of the most impressive athletes on Friday nights this fall.     We mentioned teaching level tape earlier in this article for a defensive player. Madison Memorial WR [player_tooltip player_id='1336932' first='Sam' last='Aparicio'] has teach tape for the WR position. Especially when it comes to route running. We have sung the praises of this kid's route running ability over the past year or so. The blend of body control, footwork, acceleration, and change of direction make him a very sudden WR. The 2027 is excellent at creating space and it led him to 28 receptions, 626 yards, and 7 TDs as a junior. If you love to see kid's use skill to create a mismatch then Sam is someone well worth the price of admission to come watch on a Friday night.     If you love yourself some small school football then you need to check out D7's Hilbert high school. That is where you will find RB [player_tooltip player_id='2103533' first='Jack' last='Pakala'], a 2027 RB coming off of 1,314 rushing yards, 17 TDs on a 6.8 yds/carry average That could be just the tip of the iceberg for the powerful RB. This season we should see even more power and punishment from Jack now that he is just over 200 lbs on the scale. Jack fits the mold of the old-school RB. One cut, downhill, run behind your shoulder pads, and punish tacklers. He also adds the ability to take it 75 yards to the house when he breaks through the line of defense. Look for Jack to put up big numbers this season!     Another small school athlete well worth the price of admission is Racine Lutheran QB/DB/ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1226955' first='Cohen' last='Kraus']. The '27 literally does it all for the Crusaders. He was an All Region DB and Honorable Mention All State QB following 2,294 all purpose yards, and 29 offensive TDs to go along with 85 tackles, 2 INTs, and a forced fumble. Cohen brings dynamic athleticism to the field, allowing him to roam the field at safety and add 500+ rushing yards from the QB position. Cohen also returns his go to weapon at WR so it is safe to have high expectations for Cohen and the Crusaders.     Another WR well worth the price of admission is Port Washington's [player_tooltip player_id='1620603' first='Kade' last='Kintop- Marino']. The 2027 WR is coming off 33 receptions for 1,143 All Purpose yards, and 10 Total TDs. He also added 5 INTs on the backend of the defense. But WR is where Kade shines. He proved why this summer repeatedly posting outstanding combine numbers. Numbers that show up on tape and are very fun to watch in action. His athletic tools make him a threat to score any time he touches the football, making him well worth the price of admission!     We wrap up with one of the most exciting dual threat QBs in WI. A kid coming off a great summer that has his stock steadily rising in our eyes. SPASH's [player_tooltip player_id='1650969' first='Trent' last='Breitbach'] is well worth the price of admission. With 1780+ passing yards, 850+ rushing yards, and a whole bunch of TDs, Trent is a walking highlight reel. As a passer Trent can rip the football to every level of the field. He has the mechanics to be able to maximize the potential velocity he can put into the football. Plus he has some very good command over where he places it. On the ground he is legitimate athlete. Someone who can beat angles with speed and shake defenders 1 on 1 in space. I am anxiously waiting to see the highlights this kid produces in his senior season!
