Expert Analysis
Robert Davis | Prep Redzone Scout
Lovett brings a dynamic vertical element to the Bruins offense. His speed allows him to stretch the field and put pressure on secondaries, while his height and leaping ability make him a natural redzone target. Lovett excels at climbing the ladder to high point the football, winning contested catches and securing big gains in crucial moments. His physicality also shows up in the run game, where he’s an effective perimeter blocker. Against Regis Jesuit, Lovett could benefit from defensive attention on the ground game, creating opportunities for him to make explosive plays. Expect him to be a major factor if Cherry Creek looks to open up their passing attack early.

Lovett showed out, accounting for 6 receptions, 98 yards and 2 touchdowns. The 6’0 180-pound junior was a crucial part in Cherry Creek’s performance. The playmaker has very good athletic ability due to elite acceleration, very good change of direction, and speed. He has very good release at the line of scrimmage. Using his very quick feet to out maneuver the defensive back. Whether it’s against off coverage or the press jam, Lovett is winning. Very good separation quickness due to his athletic ability and mental processing. He’s a smooth and fluid route runner. Very good ball tracking. Lovett has very good catching, and body control. One play he adjusted his body to a lower thrown ball, and kept his hands underneath to secure the catch. Textbook. After the catch, he uses his home run speed to run past everyone. Great job by the junior.

Lovett landed at #20 in the 2026 rankings. Another electric player who gives his team a consistent deep threat. He measures in at 6’0 180 pounds. Throughout his sophomore season, he accounted for 48 receptions for 792 yards and 9 touchdowns. Lovett has elite athletic ability due to elite speed, acceleration, very good change of direction, and good balance. I had the pleasure of watching him run a 4.40 40-yard dash at this previous Prep Redzone combine. He’s got wheels. He uses his explosiveness at the LOS resulting in a good release. Lovett has very good separation quickness. He uses his athletic ability to consistently outrun defenders taking the top off a defense. Lovett uses good mental processing to identify zone voids and exploit them. He has very clean cutbacks resulting in breaking some DB’s ankles. Good ball tracking skills in tandem with very good catching. Lovett will jump up for contested catches and be successful. Maxwell also gets physical in run blocking. He locks up the defender creating space for the ball carrier. I am very excited to see Lovett continuing to develop his craft over the next couple of seasons!

. This sophomore is a baller and this kid as wheels! He ran the fastest 40-yard dash at the event with a 4.40. We had him run a 3rd time to get an accurate reading. I was fortunate enough to get a video of him getting that speed which is below. He measured in at 6’0 168 pounds. His combine stats are as follows: 4.40 40-yard dash, 4.57 shuttle, 8’1 broad jump, 7.52 L-drill. Lovett has great catching skills and was consistently catching the ball. He would use his elite athletic ability to out run the defenders to get open. Good release vs the press jam. He is only a sophomore and tearing up the field. I’m very excited to see how he plays this upcoming season.

Lovett was a receiver that was technically sound is his route running and smooth in everything he does. He has a lot of speed and showed that during testing posting one of the fastest 40s on the day. He can get in and out of his cuts quickly and has soft hands being able to make the difficult catches.
