Veasley Jr. brought his track speed to the event earning top speeds in the 40, pro shuttle, and broad jump. He’s an athletic player with very good acceleration, speed, change of direction, and jumping. During the competition portion, he took it to another level. Excelled at jamming the WR and re-routing them. Smooth back pedal with fluid hips to match WRs breaking out into their route. He’d consistently stick to the WR like glue. Used his very good closing quickness paired with his ball tracking and timing to create incompletions or pass breakups. Used his very good read and reaction speed and watched the QB’s eyes to disrupt the rhythm of the offensive players. I was impressed with how he played, and I’m excited to see how continues to shine throughout camp season.

Veasley impressed with his quickness and fluid footwork, which allowed him to stay in tight coverage throughout the event. He consistently maintained strong positioning, staying in the hip pocket of receivers and making it difficult for them to gain separation. Veasley also showed the ability to locate the football, getting his head around at the right time to make plays on the ball. His physical approach added another layer to his game, as he was not afraid to challenge receivers at the line or through routes. Veasley’s combination of technique, athleticism and competitiveness made him one of the more dependable defensive backs on the field. He is a defensive back that will make a big jump in the next rankings update.

Veasley Jr had a good night against Ralston Valley. The 5’10 160-pound corner held his own all night long with some talented receivers. He even had a pick 6 taken back by a holding call. Very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, jumping, and good change of direction. Smooth back pedal and fluid hips to match the receivers. Good coverage skills with very good closing quickness. He’ll swat the ball away too. One thing about him, is he isn’t afraid to tackle. Another thing that impressed me was how Veasley Jr stayed poised in the big moments. He’s a great up and coming defensive back.
