Barnes enters Week 1 looking to turn limited freshman experience into a bigger role this fall. Appearing in seven games last season, Barnes showed flashes of physicality and instinct, shedding blocks to make stops near the line of scrimmage. His ability to bring fresh energy off the bench gives Cherry Creek valuable depth at the second level. Barnes plays with urgency, often closing quickly on ball carriers and chasing plays down from behind. Against Regis Jesuit, he’ll have opportunities to showcase his motor and prove he can handle extended snaps. A strong start could put him firmly in the conversation as one of Cherry Creek’s next up and coming players.

Heading back to Cherry Creek, where the high school varsity program finally had their run of four straight Colorado 5A state football championships broken this past December, Jeriah Barnes Jeriah Barnes 5'11" | 190 lbs | LB Cherry Creek | 2028 State CO is a really good looking prospect. One of the many weapons that played on both sides of the ball–just like (listed above)–I had trouble deciphering between running back or linebacker for him. At 5-foot-9 and 160-pounds, he has some pretty good size right now for the position(s) he plays and his style of play follows suit. He’s strong, aggressive and seems to be always attacking. Specially at linebacker, which is where I think he ends up long term, he’s a tough kid to stop from blitzing up the gut if he times it right. He’s a downhill runner that gets from point A to point B, in short order.
