is a dream recruit for a P4 program. Cromwell running style is blend of speed and physicality with rare explosiveness. He can change direction and make cuts without losing speed. He also can line up out wide and is equally effective. He shows twitch and ability to shake defenders and create separation at the top of the route. While he could easily just run away from man defenders he still shows the ability to run intermediate and deep routes very well. Cromwell also contributes in pass pro going for ribs on chip blocks on the edge. To top it off, Cromwell is a dynamic returner showing off his home run speed and MYM ability in the open field. His Soph season stat line finished with 44 carries for 287 yds (6.5 avg) and 15 catches for 172 yds (11.5 avg) with 4 TDs all coming on the ground. With lead back

Cromwell is everything you want out of a RB. The 5’11 195-pound is a beast of a running back. He has very good athletic ability due to elite speed, very good change of direction, balance, acceleration, and good jumping. He has very good vision to identify holes and paths to run through the defense. He is a mixture of a weaver and a power back. He’ll put his shoulder down and use his good trucking to run through defenders. He consistently gains yards after contact or will make defenders miss with his very good juke moves. Cromwell is a good receiver out of the backfield as well. There’s a reason why he was the 5A championship MVP. Kid’s a dawg.

As a freshman, Cromwell made an immediate impact for Cherry Creek, and his role could be set to expand in his sophomore campaign. Cromwell’s combination of size, speed and power allows him to hit the hole with authority and burst into the open field. Once he gets to the outside, he has the agility to make defenders miss and the strength to finish runs through contact. In short yardage situations, he’s a reliable option to move the chains or find the end zone. A full offseason in the weight room has only improved his explosiveness. He may start as a change of pace back in Week 1 but Cromwell’s big play potential makes him a player defenses cannot overlook.

Cromwell was a bowling ball for Cherry Creek throughout the season. He has very good athletic ability due to elite speed, very good acceleration, change of direction, balance, and jumping. In the championship game, he hurdled over the defense into the endzone. When the ball’s in his hands, he is a home run threat. Cromwell uses his very good vision to weave through the defense. He also isn’t afraid of contact and uses his very good trucking to run through defenders. It takes multiple defenders to take him down after contact. He’s a speedy bowling ball. He makes defenders miss with his juke moves, and can pivot on a dime with his dynamic cuts. Elijah can also punish the defense with his good catching out of the backfield. This kid is legit, and will be running the rock for Creek for years to come.

We like to believe running backs just run the ball, but when you’ve got a back who can run and catch, you have an all-purpose weapon. At 5’11” and 178 lbs.,

Cromwell Was the MVP for RBs and had one of the faster times in the 40 and looked smooth throughout the day. In drills he was able to show good change of direction and played with a lot of speed. In one on one he was able to show his route running and pass catching ability.

reminds me a lot of D’Andre Swift. His build and progression to and through the line of scrimmage is elite. Great vision and runs on the balls of his feet with force through contact, He will make the transition into high school without a hiccup due to work ethic and skill development. He just keeps getting better. Defenders need a solid game plan if they expect to get this ball carrier on the ground. I like his last minute moves when on top of a tackler that keeps them off balance. Explosive + vision = a deadly combo for chunks of yardage. My man is next up and his older brother was just named the freshman of the year from Missouri Western. Definitely one to keep tabs on.
