Expert Analysis
Robert Davis | Prep Redzone Scout
Vodicka commands one of the most talented offenses in the state and his ability to distribute the football will be pivotal in Week 1. Known for his quick decision making and mastery of the Bruins system, Vodicka can identify mismatches pre-snap and deliver accurate throws to his deep pool of playmakers. Week 1’s matchup against a skilled Regis Jesuit secondary will test his ability to remain patient while still attacking opportunities downfield. Vodicka’s leadership and poise will be critical in keeping the offense efficient and balanced. If he finds an early rhythm, Cherry Creek could quickly establish control and showcase why they are among the top programs in the country.

Vodicka is a QB that has a cannon for an arm but still has great touch on his passes. He is a smart QB that limits turnovers but still takes shots downfield getting those explosive plays. He has the ability to fit it into tight windows and excels at the intermediate to deep passes. He can make every throw on the field and has great timing with his receivers. When the pocket breaks down he has the ability to escape and use his legs to pick up yards as well. With his ability, he will be in the running for top QB in the state this season and should be on your radar.

Vodicka was an integral part of Cherry Creek’s run to the championship game. The 6’2 215-pound quarterback threw for 2331 yards, 25 TD, 3 INT, with a 69% completion rate. On the ground he rushed 73 times for 195 yards and 4 touchdowns. Vodicka has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, acceleration, and good footwork. He stays poised in the pocket under pressure throwing an accurate pass downfield or using his legs to gain the first down. He’ll stand tall even when he has defenders breathing down his throat about to strike him. Vodicka has a cannon of an arm. He’ll use that in tandem with his quick snappy flick of the wrist release to get the ball out with speed and power. Vodicka demonstrates good accuracy at all 3 levels, however he has very good deep accuracy. He’s accurate on the run as well. Vodicka has very good ball placement. He will throw it right on the money to his receiver. Depending on the situation, he will lead his wide receiver out in stride. He’ll also throw it right above the DB’s head so his WR can go up and make the catch. He’s shown to thread the needle and throw accurately between two defenders. Vodicka has all the intangibles and skills needed to continue succeeding as a quarterback.

has all of the traits of leading the Cherry Creek Bruins to yet another championship. A year ago, Vodicka was a freshman en route to becoming a state champion, and the odds that the Bruins are able to win their unfathomable fifth-consecutive championship in a row could very well be in the works. By the time the final seconds ticked off in Cherry Creek’s 31-7 second-round victory over Legacy, it proved to be Vodicka’s right arm that paved the way to triumph.

This one is a no-brainer! Simply put, Vodicka is already in the process of turning heads and raising eyebrows. Last fall, Vodicka tormented and picked apart opposing defenses en route to 13 passing touchdowns and only one interception in eleven games under center. Even more remarkably, Vodicka completed 72% of his passes and capped off his great statistical season with a state championship. Fast forward to 2023, and the now state title defending champ will once again have a vast array offensive weapons at his disposal. Be on the lookout for a strong statistical campaign for the Bruins quarterback.

Vodicka was able to walk away with the QB MVP and he was consistent all day with his decision making. He looked smooth in drill work and also when he was in his drop, planting on his back foot and getting it out with a quick release. He is good at leading his receivers and getting the ball out front so they do not have to wait on the ball. Biggest takeaway was that he was putting it right on receivers so they did not have to adjust to the ball in the air. He has an arm and can make those throws to the outside with ease.

The Cherry Creek quarterback did not disappoint during the entirety of the camp. He is a solid athlete with an impressive frame who showcased his athleticism during the combine portion of the event. He has quick feet and an explosive first step that allows him to quickly get in and out of his drops and take off as a runner when needed. His ability to get the ball out of his hands quickly and on target is a testament to his arm strength and footwork in the pocket. Vodicka is coming off a state championship-winning season in his first year but looks hungrier than ever, which helped him eahe MVP title for his position group.

lead the Cherry Creek Bruins to a state championship title as a freshman, but he also still has three more years of high school to continue to progress and work towards his goal of becoming a solid college football quarterback. On paper, Vodicka stands at 6’1″ while weighing in at 207 pounds and boasts proper decision making that allows him to not be careless with the football. In addition, Vodicka seems to be getting more comfortable with his passing mechanics as well. Don’t be surprised if the Bruins field general takes a big step forward into becoming one of Colorado’s top signal callers.
